Halloween 2024: Mystery Colouring and Graphing Activities!
We’re getting ready for a spooktacular Halloween with some math-y at-home activities!
It's time for another edition of our Summer Math Fun series! Every child looks forward to those magic words "We're going on vacation!" Make the build up to your summer family trip fun as well as educational with these math practice ideas.
When packing, ask your child to estimate how many shirts, pants, socks, etc. will fit in their suitcase.
Use GoogleMaps to see how far the trip is and have your child calculate the gas and mileage of your car.
Use yarn to approximate the distance between two locations on a map and have them use the legend to see what the actual distance in miles is.
Create a list of activities with start and end times and have your child make a time schedule for each day on the trip.
Have a set budget for the day/entire trip and have your child help organize your funds between events, activities, food, and housing.
Are there any fun math-related vacation planning exercises your family uses to prep for a vacation? Let us know in the comments!
We wish you very happy summer travels!
Mathnasium meets your child where they are and helps them with the customized program they need, for any level of mathematics.
