This Halloween, turn learning into a treat! At Mathnasium, we love showing kids that math is all around us — even in bats. Whether your child is just starting out with numbers or mastering middle school math, these hands-on activities make problem-solving playful and fun.
Here are three spook-tacular math activities to try at home!
1. Each section of the bat’s wings shows three numbers. Use these numbers to complete the math equations in that section.
2. Once all equations are complete, compare your work to the answer key to make sure everything is correct.
3. Make your bat spooky and fun! Cut out the bat, then colour it in any way you like. Hang it up to decorate for Halloween!
🧮 Math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division relationships
1. Cut out your Tangram pieces.
2. Build the Halloween characters.
3. Check your answers!
🧮 Math skills: geometry, spatial reasoning, creativity

2. Place the 8 bat squares on the grid so that no two share the same row, column, or diagonal. Each bat must have its own spooky space!
3. Find all the possible ways to arrange the 8 bat squares on the grid. Once you think you've found them all, check out our Answer Key!
