Linh Lu

Linh Lu

Owner
Linh is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) having worked in various roles in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking in the financial service industry for more than 10 years. Linh graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Finance Specialist with a minor in Economics. With two children of her own, Linh enjoys spending time researching and learning about different education approaches as a parent herself. Being a CPA, Linh firmly believes that possessing a strong Math foundation will help open more doors and bring children a long way to their future success. In particular, Linh is passionate about helping students apply their math skills and critical thinking ability in daily life by hosting various Financial Literacy workshops at Mathnasium of Brampton South. Linh is passionate about helping children who struggle with Math to boost their confidence by making Math make sense and creating a “friendly feeling towards Math”. She also loves to help children who already excel in Math to stimulate their inquisitive brains and allow them to satisfy their passion for learning Math.

Rida S.

Centre Director
Rida is graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Biology and Psychology Minor. Rida has experience teaching math to middle school students and also led STEM workshops throughout her University career. Rida views math as a fun and challenging puzzle to solve and hopes she can help Mathnasium students feel the same way!

Ashna S.

Assistant Centre Director
Ashna pursued her Honours Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering at York University. Ashna has always had a deep passion for mathematics since childhood. She has spread her knowledge in math to peers in school and has tutored high school students to prepare them for Grade 9 EQAO exams. During her spare time, Ashna enjoys programming, playing video games, baking treats, Lego building, and exploring restaurants and discovering new cuisines with her friends. At Mathnasium, she eagerly hopes to share her love for math and guide students in mastering essential techniques needed to successfully strive in mathematics.

Wiesia G.

High School Specialist
Wiesia is a retired Ontario Certified Teacher and has over 30 years of experience teaching Math and Physics in Montreal and Toronto. Wiesia has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, with a minor in Mathematics and a Diploma in Education from McGill University. She always enjoyed developing a love for math in those who might otherwise be intimidated by participating in breakfast and after-school tutoring programs. Her favourite math joke is: “Dear Algebra. Please stop asking us to find your x. She’s never coming back. And don’t ask y.”

Arnav D.

Senior Instructor
Arnav is a grade 12 student with ambitions of attending the University of Waterloo for computer science. Arnav has always had a passion for mathematics. He appreciates the directness and simplicity of mathematics which is why he enjoys teaching math so much. In his spare time, Arnav plays video games and hikes with his family.

Alvina S.

Instructor
Alvina is a Civil Engineering student at the University of Toronto. She did not always enjoy math, but her fourth grade teacher instilled a fondness for it which she aims to inspire her students with. In her spare time Alvina enjoys playing video games, media design and hiking with her doge. At Mathnasium Alvina strives to inspire students with an appreciation for math and help develop the tools and methods that work best for each individual student.

Himanshi B.

Instructor
Himanshi is a passionate educator with a degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Chemistry. With over 8 years of teaching experience Math and Science to middle school and high school students, Himanshi takes pride in being adaptable to each student's unique learning style and abilities. Her patience and dedication aim to foster a love for the subject in every child. Additionally, Himanshi is fluent in French and enjoys honing her language skills during her free time.

Serina R.

Instructor

Serina is a high school senior who was once a Mathnasium student herself! Now, she's excited to pay it forward and help students at Mathnasium, just as she was once helped. Serina has dreams of pursuing teaching after post-secondary education. Outside of Mathnasium, you'll often find her exploring new foods and dining out at restaurants in her spare time.

Mahi is a second-year student at the University of Toronto, specializing in Biotechnology with a minor in Chemistry. Mahi fosters a deep passion in education and works toward providing the upmost support for it. In her free time, Mahi likes to pick up new hobbies and likes to play the clarinet.

Our Mathnasium Mission
