Sylvia holds a PhD in Math Education and an M.A. in Teacher Education—an ideal combination for supporting students in their math learning journey. She is passionate about ensuring every student and family feels welcome and experiences positive growth in math skills and confidence. Her background in teacher education helps her support the professional growth of each instructor!
When not at the centre, Sylvia loves playing piano and practicing permaculture in her backyard. Her personal goal is to eat something she grows herself every day of the year!
Sumeet has been tutoring math since 2021 and enjoys helping students work through problems and build their skills. She hopes to help students discover that math can be interesting, rewarding, and even enjoyable! She joined our team in December 2025.
When she’s not teaching at Mathnasium, Sumeet enjoys reading, baking, and learning new skills like sewing. She also likes staying active by playing sports and going to the gym, and spending time with family. She’s excited to share her love of math with her students!
Josh is a third-year computer science student at UFV. He finds it incredibly satisfying to see students overcome challenges and excel after his guidance. His favorite part of teaching is watching students gain confidence and tackle math problems with ease.
Outside of Mathnasium, Josh enjoys playing volleyball and video games. He joined the team in January 2025 and is excited to continue helping students thrive in math.
Skylar is pursuing a degree in Biosciences at Simon Fraser University. She loves helping students understand and appreciate math, making it fun and accessible for all learning styles.
Outside of Mathnasium, Skylar enjoys playing sports and diving into good books. She’s passionate about encouraging students to find joy and confidence in solving math problems.
Eunice took a diploma in architectural building technology in BCIT. She has been tutoring since high school, and finds it fulfilling working with students, especially seeing them enjoy doing math.
Outside of Mathnasium, Eunice enjoys working on personal projects varying from crafts, ceramics, and photography. She joined the centre in November 2025 and has been enjoying working with students.
Allyson graduated from Sardis Secondary and looks forward to studying at UFV in Sciences. She sees math as a series of fun puzzles waiting to be solved. Her goal is to help more students discover the excitement of math and approach it with confidence.
When she’s not teaching at Mathnasium, Allyson enjoys playing sports and spending time with friends. She’s excited to inspire a love for math in her students. She's helping to lead out Breakout Games this summer and she joined the Team in September 2024.
Sophie used to be a student at Mathnasium and now she teaches for us! She is planning to study medical imaging in September. "I enjoy finding ways to help students fully understand what they're being asked and how to approach questions". When she isn't at Mathnasium, Sophie enjoys playing sports or hanging out with friends or at the gym. She joined our team in August 2025.
Daniel is in his final year at GW Graham and enjoys sharing all he knows about math. "Perspective is everything. I love helping students learn to view math differently." During his free time, he enjoys participating in Army Cadets and playing story games. He joined our team in September 2025.
Hanna graduated from Sardis Secondary and looks forward to studying at UBCo in Sciences. She will continue to teach our online students from her new location this Fall! She joined the Team in Decemeber 2024.
