Jera is a recent graduate from the University of Calgary with a B.Sc. in General Mathematics. She has always been passionate about learning and teaching math at all levels and aims to make the subject engaging and accessible for every student. As someone who once doubted the value of math, she now enjoys helping students realize its importance and beauty in everyday life.
In addition to her love for math, Jera has a minor in Japanese and is fluent in three languages. She enjoys volleyball, hiking, table tennis, and participating in mission trips and volunteer opportunities.
Daisy is the Owner and Centre Director of Mathnasium of Crowfoot and Calgary North. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and taught in Calgary classrooms for six years before working in educational software. Her background in edtech helped her recognize how students process math differently and deepened her belief in personalized learning.
Drawn to the Mathnasium Method™, Daisy is committed to building an encouraging environment where students shift from fearing math to enjoying it. Her mission is to spark curiosity, eliminate the fixed mindset, and create a space where students can thrive.
Vivek is a student at the University of Calgary, studying mechanical engineering. Driven by his passion for flight, innovation, and problem solving, he hopes to become an aerospace engineer in his future. He hopes to create the same positive learning environment and experiences that he had in school for the students he works with. Beyond school, Vivek enjoys sharing knowledge and encouraging others to explore STEM through mentorship. In the future, Vivek hopes to be a part of aerospace projects and eventually work abroad, collaborating with other passionate people throughout the world.
Fermi is studying Mathematics at the University of Calgary and aspires to become an actuary and researcher. Alongside her studies, she has found a real passion for teaching. Tutoring has been a rewarding experience for her, especially when working with kids—she loves sharing her enthusiasm for math, helping them build confidence, and encouraging them to discover their own interests. She loves travelling, learning about new cultures and solving puzzles!
I am currently a student at the University of Calgary, currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering. I enjoys breaking down complex concepts into clear, practical explanations and tailoring my approach to each student’s needs. My goals are not only to help students succeed academically, but also to inspire curiosity and a deeper appreciation for how engineering and science shape the world around us. My other hobbies include playing sports and reading.
Razaan is a student at the University of Calgary, studying Engineering and Business. She has always had a passion for both math and teaching. Her favorite area of math is Algebra. She aims to make complex topics simple and approachable for students, helping them build an understanding of concepts she once found challenging. In her free time, Razaan enjoys hiking, baking and travelling.
Janelle is a student at the University of Calgary, majoring in Geomatics Engineering. She loves painting colorful pictures, embroidery, baking cakes, pastries, and cookies, and singing. As a tutor, she brings creativity into her teaching by using drawings and visual aids to help students better understand math concepts. Her approach not only makes learning more engaging but also makes it way easier to visualize. One of her favorite parts of tutoring is building connections with students from all walks of life. She hopes the lessons she shares will leave a lasting impact and help students grow in both confidence and understanding.
Anushka is studying Nursing at the University of Calgary. She recognizes that every student learns at their own pace and strives to create a supportive environment where they can reach their potential and discover strategies that work best for them. Anushka aspires to become a pediatric nurse, combining her love for working with children with her passion for healthcare. She hopes to not only care for children locally but also improve access to healthcare for children worldwide. Outside of her studies and work, Anushka loves music and wants to travel the world.
