Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Hashim

Centre Director

Hashim is a Computer Science graduate from Western University with a strong interest in teaching, software development, and artificial intelligence. He is passionate about helping students strengthen their understanding by building on what they already know and clarifying areas of confusion, always aiming to make learning approachable and rewarding.

Outside the classroom, Hashim enjoys baking, boxing, dining out, and watching television. He also loves tackling complex coding challenges and web development projects. His favourite math joke is: “I spent all day baking cookies, but after eating them all, I realized I had nothing left to count.”

Tyler

Tyler is a Senior Instructor and a recent Computer Science graduate from the University of Guelph. He is dedicated to helping students see the beauty of mathematics through individualized instruction that supports their unique learning needs. Beyond academics, Ray is a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo. This background has instilled in him the patience and discipline he uses to guide students through their own challenges at the centre. In his free time, he enjoys reading, playing the piano, and personal coding projects.

James

Senior Instructor & Curriculum Coordinator

James holds a degree in Computer Science from York University and has a deep interest in Linguistics. Outside of Mathnasium, he's often immersed in coding, working on passion projects like developing games, creating language learning software, or exploring new ideas. James is dedicated to helping each student achieve their full potential in math while making the learning experience enjoyable. His ultimate goal is to show students how math concepts are interconnected—like pieces of a puzzle that come together to reveal the bigger picture of how numbers truly work.

Haddy

Senior Instructor

Haddy is a third-year Computer Science and Physics dual major at Wilfrid Laurier University. He finds teaching incredibly rewarding because he loves witnessing the moment a student connects with a concept and realizes how straightforward and enjoyable math can truly be.

By fostering an environment of discovery, Haddy focuses on helping students see the logic behind the numbers, turning intimidating problems into manageable successes. He is dedicated to making every session at Mathnasium both approachable and fun, ensuring students walk away with increased confidence.

Outside of the center, Haddy is a dedicated NBA fan who loves following the latest in basketball. He also enjoys delving deep into music, exploring new genres and artists.

Domenico

Instructor

Domenico is a student pursuing business post secondary. He has a strong love for teaching others, and always enjoys adapting to new learning styles to ensure the success of everyone involved. Domenico believes learning new math concepts and facing the various challenges they impose helps build newfound confidence, self encouragement, and a better overall mindset. He enjoys working at Mathnasium because he enjoys teaching students math with an individualized approach, which helps him understand the students specific needs, pace and style of learning. In his free time, Domenico likes playing and watching sports, getting together with friends, and listening to music.

Julianna

Instructor

Julianna is a final-year student at McMaster University specializing in Accounting and is pursuing her CPA. She has over 5 years experience in leadership roles within Scouting and within various church groups. Through these roles, she has developed a strong passion for mentoring and teaching young people, particularly in subjects that build confidence and practical life skills.

What Julianna enjoys most about teaching math is watching a child go from feeling unsure to realizing, “I can do this.” She believes that when math is introduced with patience, encouragement, and creativity, it becomes less intimidating and more enjoyable. She is especially passionate about helping younger students build strong foundations and confidence early on, knowing that these early experiences often shape how students feel about learning for years to come.

In her free time Julianna enjoys horseback riding, alpine skiing, and spending time outdoors.

Tanmayi

Instructor

Tanmayi enjoys working at Mathnasium due to her love of watching students become more confident in their skills. She uses an individualized approach, understanding each student's pace, learning style and skills to ensure their specific needs are met. She loves seeing the new found determination in a student after overcoming challenging problems, and Tanmayi believes that confidence in a student’s math foundations can set them up for great success in many areas of life! When she’s not teaching, Tanmayi likes to read and make art, and has ambitions to pursue further education in medicine.

Nicole

Instructor

Nicole is a first year life science student at McMaster university with a dream of pursuing medical school. She’s always loved math and sharing this passion with others, and working with the students at Mathnasium allows her to do exactly that. Nicole believes that all students have the potential to not only understand math, but to also appreciate and love it. Mathasiums’ teaching method allows for students to develop this understanding and, it is their peers and instructors around the student that allows them to enjoy the process. In her free time, Nicole loves to read, build little contraptions and play an instrument.
