Mathnasium of Hamilton Mountain's personalized math test prep programmes are built around each student's unique needs, helping K-12 students close knowledge gaps, sharpen their skills, and walk into any math exam fully prepared.
We align instruction with the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum to prepare students for the math portions of the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) assessment. By identifying each student's knowledge gaps and building understanding level by level, we help students approach their provincial assessment with the skills and confidence needed to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
At Mathnasium of Hamilton Mountain, our specially trained math tutors help K-12 students prepare for any math exam, from classroom quizzes to provincial assessments like the EQAO.
We work with students in a caring and fun group environment, providing personalized, face-to-face instruction that focuses on genuine understanding. Our tutors pinpoint each student's knowledge gaps, introduce concepts in a logical sequence, and guide them steadily forward so they feel prepared and capable when exam day arrives.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines assessment-based personalized learning plans with proven interactive techniques to build the mathematical understanding students need to perform well on any exam.
Rather than drilling test-taking tactics, our tutors help students truly grasp the concepts they'll be tested on. Paired with proprietary test prep materials, this approach develops the problem-solving skills and confidence that lead to meaningful, lasting improvement.
Students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that helps us pinpoint their current skill level, knowledge gaps, and exam goals. Using these insights, we design a personalized learning plan that targets exactly what each student needs to work on.
Tutors follow each plan closely, reinforcing understanding and introducing new material gradually. As students build skills and fill knowledge gaps, their confidence grows alongside their readiness, so they arrive at their exam prepared to do their best.

At Mathnasium of Hamilton Mountain, we take a long-view approach to exam preparation, focusing on steady math growth rather than cramming before test day.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills and any knowledge gaps. From there, we develop a personalised learning plan that builds math skills consistently, so students aren't starting from scratch before every exam.
Our specially trained tutors work with students across any K-12 math class, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing the concepts they're learning in school, filling in foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills that serve them on quizzes, midterms, and final exams alike.
When a major exam is approaching, we can also focus on the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.
Absolutely! Mathnasium of Hamilton Mountain helps students prepare for the math sections of the EQAO assessment by aligning instruction with the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum and each student's individual needs.
The process begins with a diagnostic assessment to pinpoint gaps in understanding. From there, we create a personalised learning plan that targets the skills students need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
The sooner, the better. Because the EQAO assessment measures the math skills students develop over the course of the school year, consistent preparation throughout the year is far more effective than a rushed approach before the test.
We encourage families to reach out at the start of the school year so we have time to address any foundational gaps and build grade-level skills. If your student's assessment is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll develop a focused plan around the time available.
Math test prep at Mathnasium of Hamilton Mountain is offered as part of a flat monthly membership fee. Pricing depends on your student's individual learning plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our centre directly. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
The number of sessions depends on your student's current skill level, the assessment they are preparing for, and how much time remains before the exam.
As a general guide, most students preparing for a major assessment attend two sessions per week over several weeks to a few months, with frequency depending on the depth of preparation needed. After the diagnostic assessment, we'll have a clear picture of what your student needs and can recommend a session schedule that gives them the best chance of success.
Yes! Students who prefer to learn from home can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our specially trained Hamilton tutors and follow the same personalised learning plan as they would in the centre.
Not at all. Whether your student joins us in the centre or online, they receive the same personalised learning plan, face-to-face instruction, and attentive support from our specially trained Hamilton tutors.
Many families take advantage of a mix of in-centre and online sessions to stay on track around busy schedules and shifting exam timelines.
Yes. Our specially trained tutors understand the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum and the expectations students encounter in local schools throughout Hamilton, Stoney Creek, and Binbrook.
