Mathnasium of Hamilton Mountain COVID-19 SAFETY POLICY
Keeping students, parents, and employees safe and healthy has always been our highest priority. To create such an environment, we implemented the following policy.
What we changed
- Removed all items sharable by students
- Removed all chairs from the waiting room to avoid unsafe distances
- Spaced the tables to increase the distance between the students
- Removed extra chairs, leaving the entire table for one student
- Provided Mathnasium pencil case with a pen and a pencil to each student
- Implemented scheduled lessons to keep the number of students at any given time within safe capacity of the Centre
- Provided re-usable facemasks to all students taking lessons in-Centre
- Installed plexiglass sneeze guards between students and instructors
- Installed plexiglass sneeze guards between side-by-side tables
- Marked 6-ft safe distance on the floor
- Posted COVID-19 Warning Note on the Centre’s door
- Create a sanitation station at the entrance of the Centre
- Provided alcohol-based hand sanitizer at the sanitation station
- Spaced in-centre sessions by 5 minutes to allow time for disinfection
- Started to disinfect binders, desks, sneeze guards, chairs after every session
- Started to disinfect light switches, door handles, and hand sanitizer dispensers every hour.
What our instructors do
- Stay home if feeling unwell
- Wear facemask at all time
- Complete COVID-19 screening form before starting your shift
- Sanitize hands before and after your shift
- Disinfect your working area before and after your shift
- Disinfect student’s binder, desk, sneeze guard and chair right after the session ends
- Wash hands for 20 seconds every hour and after disinfecting student’s desk
- When possible, keep safe 6’ distance
- Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated

What our parents and guardians do
- If your child is feeling unwell, coughing, or sneezing, we do kindly request that they stay home to recuperate
- This missed lesson can be re-scheduled, or banked as a vacation day, or taken via Mathnasium@home
- If your child starts feeling unwell during the lesson, we will ask you to come and pick them up
- Send your child with the own water bottle to stay hydrated
- Staying hydrated is important
- We removed our shared the water dispensers
- While in Centre wear facemask at all time
- Everyone in the Centre must wear a facemask as ALL time
- Sanitize hands every time you enter and exit the Centre
- We do provide a hand sanitizer at the sanitation station
- Keep 6’ safe distance
- Follow the markers on the floor
- Bring in and pick up your student on time
- We have only 1 emergency seat for a student if the parents are late
- Wait for your student outside the Centre
- We are very sorry for the inconvenience, but we removed all chairs from the waiting area

- Did you travel outside of Canada in the past 14 days?
- Have you tested positive for COVID-19 or had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 without wearing appropriate PPE?
- Do you have any of the following symptoms?
- Fever
- New onset of cough
- Worsening chronic cough
- Shortness of breath
- Difficulty breathing
- Sore throat
- Difficulty swallowing
- Decrease of loss of sense of taste or smell
- Chills
- Headaches
- Unexplained fatigue/malaise/muscle aches (myalgias)
- Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain
- Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
- Runny nose or nasal congestion without other known cause
