Dr Sylvia

Centre Director, Owner

Sylvia has a PhD in Math Education and a M.A. is Teacher Education - what a great combination! She loves making sure that each family and student feel welcome and see positive results in math learning and confidence. When she's not at either the Langley or Chilliwack centres, she's either playing the piano in their living room or practicing permaculture in her backyard. Goal: eat something she grew herself each day of the year!

Neeru

Assistant Centre Director Elementary

Neeru came to us with 5 years experience from another Mathnasium centre. She joined our team in Sept 2024. She loves seeing students have multiple ah-ha moments each day. It makes come to work worthwhile!

Julian

Assistant Centre Director Secondary & Online Learning

Julian has an M.A. in Linguistics from TWU. He appreciates bringing real life contexts to the math he teaches here. He joined our team in January 2021, becoming ACD in Sept 2024.

Seema

High School Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Seema is an Engineering graduate who chose to play with numbers rather than machines! "I'm passionate about mentoring young kids and helping them learn to solve complex puzzles." She has several years experience tutoring math overseas and joined our team in November 2021. She won a staff award in Q2 for her excellent contributions to the team.

Dev M

Elementary Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Dev is in her second year of Health Sciences at SFU. She really appreciates the sense of personal and collective professional growth she experiences at Mathnasium. But she is thrilled to see how the students grow in confidence and skills. "I love knowing that I'm a part of that!" She joined us in Aug '21 and won a staff award in Q2 for her efforts to be a great role model!

Valerie

Administrative Assistant

Valerie loves living in Langley and is heavily involved with her kids' PAC. She joined our Team in September 2022. When she's not working she likes to knit, bake bread and spend time outside with her family. She is proud to work for a small business in her community!

Krishnaja

Math Instructor

Krishnaja is studying Bio-Medical Physiology at UBC, then she hopes to go to medical school. Her years of experience with us make her an important part of the training team for new instructors. She joined us in March 2020.

Maria

Elementary Math Instructor

Maria graduated in June 2023 from Langley Fundamental Secondary. She loves the fast-paced team teaching environment here. She joined the team in January 2023.

Stella

Online Math Instructor

Stella is a first year Political Science major at McGill University. She started with us as a student in Grade 7 and quickly rose to the top of her class! She's worked for us since August 2022 and now will teach online, after being an online student herself for 3 years! Her enthusiasm for math and teaching follows her from student to student.

Nira

Elementary Math Instructor

Nira enjoys teaching the variety of math that she gets here. "It keeps the job interesting!" She started with us as a grade 10 student but came on staff in January 2021 after excelling in every math course she took. She teaches both in-centre and online.

Georgette

Online Math Instructor

Georgette is finishing a Math Major at SFU. "I love the way we get to make math fun for kids!" She joined the team in April 2022.
