Joseph grew up in North Vancouver, attending Argyle Secondary School, where he excelled in math and developed a love for problem-solving. With a background that spans creative fields, including film and culinary arts, he brings a unique blend of analytical and creative thinking to his work with students.
Now fully dedicated to writing and math education, Joseph enjoys making math engaging and approachable for learners of all ages. He focuses on building confidence and showing students that math is not just useful—it’s everywhere in life and can be a lot of fun.
Connor is a Biology student at Simon Fraser University with more than two years of experience teaching math. His scientific background gives him a practical perspective on problem-solving and data analysis, which he brings into his sessions with students. He enjoys guiding learners to think critically and approach challenges with confidence. Connor believes that developing strong math skills not only improves academic performance but also builds perseverance and creative thinking that benefit students in every area of life.
Oliver is a Computer Science student at Simon Fraser University with a passion for simplifying complex problems into clear, approachable concepts. Dedicated to helping students build a strong foundation in mathematics, he emphasizes the importance of curiosity and critical thinking in learning. Oliver strives to make math engaging and enjoyable by fostering a collaborative environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and actively connect with the material.
Benjamin is a high school student enrolled in the full IB Diploma Programme, one of the most academically rigorous programs available. Driven by a strong curiosity for mathematics, he is taking Math AA HL, the most advanced math course offered at the high school level. Benjamin excels at explaining complex concepts in a clear, approachable way and creating a comfortable, supportive learning environment for students.
Kiana has always enjoyed the challenge of figuring things out, which is a big part of why math comes naturally to her. She took calculus in Grade 12 and is currently studying sciences at UBC, with the goal of majoring in mathematics. In her tutoring, she focuses less on giving answers and more on guiding students through the thinking behind each problem. Her goal is to help students build confidence in their own reasoning so they feel comfortable approaching new questions independently. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys playing the cello, spending time with friends, and exploring new puzzles and ideas. She brings a calm, encouraging presence to each session, helping students feel supported and at ease while learning.
Aaron is a high school student who has always enjoyed understanding how ideas fit together in math. His curiosity led him to study calculus early, eventually completing the equivalent of a full year of college-level calculus and earning top marks on the AP Calculus BC exam in Grade 10. He enjoys helping students see that most problems become manageable once they’re broken down into clear, simple steps.
Marcello is a high school student currently attending Argyle Secondary School. He hopes to major in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. His passion for math led him to study advanced calculus and physics. He has experience teaching children in the aquatic field and hopes to make mathematics an easier and more approachable subject to learn. He believes that anyone can be a good math student with the right mindset and knowledge. Outside of teaching, he enjoys solving and finding solutions to complex math problems. He has always enjoyed solving and finding solutions to conceptual math problems.
Yaromyr is a student in the engineering transfer program at Langara College, where he brings a strong foundation in mathematics and analytical problem-solving. He is naturally curious and enjoys breaking down complex ideas into clear, logical steps. As a tutor, he emphasizes deep understanding and structured thinking, helping students build confidence and approach problems independently rather than relying on memorization. Outside of academics, Yaromyr stays active through basketball and other sports, and brings experience from coaching youth tennis into his teaching, using a patient, disciplined, and supportive approach.
Tari is a first-year Science student at the University of British Columbia. After completing Calculus 12 and IB Mathematics SL, she developed a strong appreciation for logical thinking and problem-solving. Having enjoyed mathematics since childhood, Tari is passionate about helping students build confidence and develop a genuine understanding of math. Rather than focusing on memorizing steps, she encourages students to understand the reasoning behind each concept so they can approach new problems with confidence and independence.
Jewelya has degrees in Materials Engineering and Biomedical Sciences. She has always loved solving complex problems and exploring how things work. Drawing on her background in sports coaching and academic tutoring, Jewelya helps students break down problems and develop the confidence to work through them independently.
She is dedicated to making math approachable, logical, and engaging for students of all learning styles. She believes that every student can succeed in math with the right guidance, encouragement, and support.
Aria is a second-year Engineering student at the University of British Columbia. He has completed university-level coursework as well as advanced courses including AP Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics, giving him a strong academic foundation for supporting students through high school and higher-level mathematics.
With over 500 hours of classroom and math tutoring experience, Aria brings both subject expertise and extensive teaching experience to his students. His strong understanding of mathematical fundamentals allows him to break down challenging topics into clear, manageable steps, helping students truly understand the concepts rather than simply memorize procedures. His goal is to build not only stronger math skills, but also the independence and confidence students need to succeed as they progress to more advanced mathematics.
