Alvin, the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Burnaby North, leverages extensive IT and business management experience to lead a passionate team dedicated to student success in math. With seven years managing three Mathnasium centers in Canada, Alvin has helped numerous students thrive by providing a supportive, engaging, and practical learning experience. Backed by highly trained instructors, the Burnaby North center is committed to delivering the proven Mathnasium Method, fostering deep math comprehension and enjoyment for long-term success.
Parsa Khoshkar is a passionate math instructor with expertise in computation, computational analysis, and problem-solving. Currently pursuing a degree in Neuroscience, he combines his love for mathematics with a deep interest in the brain and its processes. Parsa is dedicated to helping students develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, emphasizing real-world applications. Aspiring to become a university professor, he is committed to inspiring the next generation of learners. Alongside his mathematical expertise, Parsa brings excellent pedagogical skills, critical thinking abilities, and a strong foundation in research and development.
Andreea is an experienced Mathematics Teacher with over 10 years of expertise in middle and high school education. She is proficient in implementing innovative and differentiated instructional strategies to foster student engagement and academic success. Oliver is a Computer Science student at Simon Fraser University with a passion for simplifying complex problems into clear, approachable concepts. Dedicated to helping students build a strong foundation in mathematics, he emphasizes the importance of curiosity and critical thinking in learning. Oliver strives to make math engaging and enjoyable by fostering a collaborative environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and actively connect with the material.
Connor is a Biology student at SFU with over two and a half years of experience teaching math. He is passionate about helping students deepen their understanding and build confidence in their mathematical abilities.
Siraj, a high school senior pursuing the IB Diploma, specializes in Higher Level Mathematics. With a background in the French educational system, he offers a unique perspective by integrating diverse teaching approaches. Passionate about empowering students, Siraj focuses on helping them connect concepts and build a deeper understanding of mathematics through independent reasoning and critical thinking.
Alex is currently studying chemical engineering at the University of British Columbia. He enjoys teaching math and is a strong believer in the Socratic Method. He wants to help connect the dots from one concept to another through their own thinking. He is also passionate about science and engineering, and enjoys answering the question, “Why we study math."
Chelsea is a STEM student aiming to major in ecology or environmental studies, with hopes of earning a teaching degree afterward. She loves sharing random, fun science facts and enjoys passing on her knowledge to others. Chelsea is passionate about teaching kids and building their confidence in math, as she understands how easy it is to feel discouraged.
Joseph Liu grew up in North Vancouver, attending Argyle Secondary School, where he excelled in math and developed a love for problem-solving. With a background spanning creative fields, including work in film and as a chef, Joseph brings a unique perspective to his teaching, blending analytical and creative thinking. Now fully dedicated to writing and math education, he enjoys making math engaging and approachable for students, helping them gain confidence and showing them that math is everywhere in life—and that it can be a lot of fun.
