Hi, I’m Cathy. I have 2 years of tutoring experience at Mathnasium and over 4 years of private tutoring experience. I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with kids. I believe education is meaningful because it can change a child’s life through guidance, inspiration, and knowledge. I can use my strength in simplifying complicated math concepts into clear, digestible ideas and easy-to-follow steps. My goal is to ensure every student can understand the concepts and apply them right away, building both their math skills and their confidence.
In my daily work at Mathnasium, I support students by engaging them with different manipulatives and breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps based on the teaching materials provided. I also motivate and encourage students through a variety of reward systems from Mathnasium—such as spinning the wheel, rolling a dice, bowling games, and monthly calendars—so they can earn stars and trade them for prizes as recognition for their effort. I believe that with Mathnasium’s well-designed learning materials and the power of positive reinforcement, students can take meaningful steps toward success.
Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
