Jerry is a former software developer who brings a creative approach to math education. He has a special interest in using visual analogies to explain analytical concepts, making math more accessible and engaging for students.
As Centre Director, he values building connections with students and supporting their growth through every step of their learning journey. Jerry believes math can be a shared experience that sparks curiosity and confidence. When he’s not teaching, he enjoys conversations with students over a slice of pie—especially the mathematical kind.
Matthew is attending Langara College. As a child, he discovered a passion for mathematics early on, and as a high schooler, that passion turned into 3 consecutive grade level championships for the waterloo math contest. Matthew hopes to help students discover a passion for mathematics like himself. He aims to help students develop fundamental math skills and critical thinking to attack problems from different angles. Outside of mathnasium, he enjoys video games and working out. Matthew is grateful to be part of the team at Mathnasium of Richmond BC.
Chelsea is a first-year Science student at the University of British Columbia with the goal of pursuing medicine. Math has always been one of her favourite subjects at school and an area in which she excelled. She finds that the reliability of logic and numbers provide a sense of comfort. Outside of her studies, she enjoys art, reading and music. Accordingly, she likes the creativity in math and how there is an answer for every problem, yet also many ways to get there. Having begun tutoring math and science at her high school, she discovered a passion for teaching, realizing that truly caring and wanting to help was what mattered most. She is excited to be part of the Mathnasium team where she can help students gain confidence and find an appreciation for math.
Renil is a fourth-year student at University of British Columbia, studying Chemistry. Alongside his passion for science, he has always had a strong interest in mathematics and enjoys exploring the connections between math and the natural world. He believes that with the right tools, guidance, and support, every student can excel in mathematics and hone their confidence in problem solving. As an instructor, He is dedicated to creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, overcoming hurdles, and celebrating their wins. He is excited to be part of the team and looks forward to helping and guiding students through math.
Melody has always enjoyed mathematics and problem-solving and has a strong interest in exploring challenging mathematical concepts. She has participated in competitions such as the AMC, AIME, and University of Waterloo contests, which have helped her develop strong analytical and critical-thinking skills. She enjoys the creativity and logic that mathematics brings and is always eager to learn new concepts and tackle difficult problems. Outside of academics, Melody is involved in music and various school activities. She enjoys staying involved in her community, pursuing her interests, and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to be a part of the team of instructors at Mathnasium and looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for mathematics with students.
Sabrina holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration, concentrating in accounting, and plans on pursuing a Bachelor's of Education to become an elementary school teacher. She has always enjoyed math because of the logic and structure it provides. Sabrina is passionate about helping children build their confidence and skills in math. In her free time, she likes cooking, baking, and spending time with her cat. Sabrina is happy to be part of the team of instructors at Mathnasium of Richmond BC
