Diana Hall

Assistant Centre Director
Diana is the Assistant Centre Director at Mathnasium of Southland. She is a certified teacher, gaining her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary. Diana is also the previous owner of a successful tutoring centre in Salmon Arm, BC, where she lived for 20 years. She has taught and tutored students of all ages and abilities and loves to build rapport with each individual. Diana is experienced, inspiring, and supportive. She has extensive volunteer work as past President of the Vernon Vortex Speed Skating Club, and currently delivers food hampers to families in her community. Diana has a passion for math and is excited to bring the Mathnasium Method to children in the surrounding area. She has 3 teenaged children and enjoys sports and arts in her free time.

Tommy Trang

Instructor
Tommy is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. He is currently a Bachelor of Science student taking Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Digital Engineering, at the University of Calgary. Tommy has always been passionate about problem solving and math, believing that it is an important skill to develop. He also has a love for music. Tommy has gained a tremendous amount of teaching experience as a music instructor, which makes sense, as music and math complement each other. Tommy is excited to share his skills and knowledge with students, helping them become stronger academically.

Amir Kashi

Instructor
Amir is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. Amir has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Semnan, Iran, and has worked over 12 years on oil and gas projects as a designer. He also has a certificate in Process Piping Drafting from SAIT, 2018. Amir has always been involved with numbers, formulas, problem-solving and analysis. He was a Math tutor for junior high school students while he was studying at the university, and he has a great passion to help and support others with a desire to learn and excel at math. His dream has always been to be an instructor, so he is excited to be part of the Mathnasium experience. Amir believes that math should be fun for students. He wishes to transfer all of his skills and knowledge to help students learn math in the best way, through understanding, and not by memorization. In his free time, Amir enjoys solving jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, and working on some math and physics problems just for fun.

Allen Sandwell

Instructor
Allen is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Calgary. Allen also has an extensive teaching portfolio, having taught multiple classes in engineering at the university level. He uses this experience in his role at Mathnasium to show students the rich and diverse applications that mathematics can offer. Allen endeavors to challenge students to understand the basic concepts so that they may apply these in a variety of situations, rather than memorize steps to solve a given problem. This foundational method of education leads to lifelong understanding and appreciation of the subject matter, and it shows how useful and fun math can be!

Jadyn Cuu

Instructor
Jadyn is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She is currently a Bachelor of Nursing student at Mount Royal University. Jadyn has always been passionate about teaching and has demonstrated this through her experience as a peer-tutor, volunteering as a youth leader at Foothills Medical Centre, as well as working as a music instructor. Since working with students of various ages and skill level, she emphasizes the importance of personalizing her teaching approach for each student. While she believes mathematics can be very practical, she hopes that others can also find enjoyment in Math by having a strong foundational understanding of the subject. In her spare time, Jadyn enjoys playing the violin or piano, painting, and playing volleyball.

Sahar Farjad

Instructor
Sahar is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Calgary, in Civil Engineering. In addition to 5 years of engagement in the design and coordination of various construction projects, she also has several years of experience in tutoring math at different grade levels. Compassionate and patient, Sahar always tries to put 100% effort into her work. She loves teaching and finds it very rewarding to help others understand difficult concepts. Sahar is passionate about working with children as they are usually curious, energetic, and delighted about every little thing happening around them. Sahar believes the Mathnasium method is helpful to every single child learning math. Sahar enjoys watching TED talks as she finds them inspiring and educational.

Adrina Sadeghian

Instructor
Adrina is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She is currently a first-year engineering student at the University of Calgary. With substantial experience gained from her prior babysitting roles, she has consistently maintained a keen interest in mathematics, actively participating in various local and provincial math competitions. In her capacity as a math instructor, her ultimate goal is to ignite the same passion for mathematics in other children by assisting them in grasping more intricate concepts. The innovative and effective teaching methods employed by Mathnasium render it possible for Adrina to realize this ambition.

Pegah Farjad

Instructor
Pegah is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She is currently a Master of Science student at the University of Calgary, in Civil and Material Engineering. Pegah also has a BSc and MSc degree in Chemical Engineering, with several years of professional experience in related industries. Pegah also has several years of experience in tutoring math at different grade levels. She is known as a patient person, who always does her best to reach the final goal. She is especially passionate about helping students understand difficult Math concepts and says that she loves children as they are energetic and kind. Pegah thinks that Mathnasium has a friendly atmosphere, which she says can be helpful to every child when learning Math. Pegah enjoys watching series and movies and plays guitar in her free time.

Alice Ho

Instructor
Alice is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She has a Master's degree in Education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Alice is a certified teacher in her own country, with over 9 years of experience teaching Mathematics to students at various grade levels. Alice believes that every student can appreciate the beauty of Mathematics with proper guidance. She enjoys getting along with kids, and she is happy to be a part of the Mathnasium team to help students understand math with different approaches. Alice loves traveling with her family to meet different people and see new cultures.

Marjaneh Hossieni

Instructor
Marjaneh is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She is currently in her first year of PhD studies in Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary. Marjaneh has a strong background in Math, as she graduated from a well-known university with a Bachelor of Computer Science. Marjaneh has had many years of experience in teaching dance to children and adults. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, reading, and working out. Marjaneh is grateful for the opportunity to become a member of Mathnasium to help support students learning Math.

Sina Taheria

Instructor
Sina is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland, currently pursuing a PhD in Management at the University of Calgary. Sina also has extensive experience teaching various engineering courses at the university level and has worked as a Badminton coach, gaining valuable experience working with children. With a kind and patient approach, Sina has honed his skills in helping children understand complex mathematical concepts and fostering a love for math. In his free time, Sina enjoys spending quality time with his family and cat, as well as cooking and socializing with friends.

Najmeh PoorJafari

Instructor
Najmeh is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She is currently in her first year of Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary. Throughout Najmeh’s BSc and MSc studies, she gained experience as a teaching assistant for various courses, including soil mechanics which involves mathematical challenges. Her passion for mathematics is contagious and she is excited to join Mathnasium where she can contribute to spreading the joy of math among children.

Romina Merati

Instructor
Romina is an Instructor with Mathnasium Southland.  She is an engineering student at U of C with a love and passion for teaching mathematics. She is currently enrolled at the University of Calgary, pursuing a degree in engineering. She is in her first semester. Romina brings a unique perspective to the Mathnasium team and easily relates to students of all ages. As an Instructor, Romina works closely with students to help them understand and enjoy math.

Nasim Shahi

Instructor
Nasim is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. She is currently doing her last semester of Master of Science in International Management, at the University of Lethbridge, Calgary Campus. She also has a BSc and MSc degree in Management, with several years of professional experience in the logistics industry. Her educational background brings a unique perspective to her teaching approach, emphasizing problem-solving, analytical thinking, and adaptability. With her patience and outgoing nature, Nasim is enthusiastic about making a positive impact on children's education by making complex math concepts simplified, accessible, and enjoyable for children. In her spare time, Nasim enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading, and hanging out with friends.

Gregory Chan

Instructor
Gregory is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland, currently studying at Lord Beaverbrook High School. With a strong background in tutoring since the age of 12 and a passion for mathematics, he loves helping students comprehend mathematical concepts. Gregory's love for math extends beyond the classroom, as he aspires to become a pilot one day. He also enjoys travelling to various countries and experiencing different cultures around the world. Gregory finds great satisfaction in guiding students to explore the potential of mathematics

Mahdi Kiaei

Instructor
Mahdi is an instructor at Mathnasium of Southland. Mahdi is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Technology Management at the University of Calgary. His academic journey is complemented by a strong foundation in IT and finance. Previously, he has served as an educator in high schools, cultivating a deep passion for teaching young minds. At Mathnasium, Mahdi is dedicated to fostering a love for mathematics and helping students gain confidence in tackling complex concepts. His goal is to become a university professor, and he is committed to guiding students toward academic success in a supportive and engaging learning environment. Outside of his academic pursuits, Mahdi enjoys participating in a range of sports and recreational activities during his leisure time.

Sam Teymoorian

Instructor
Sam is a dedicated instructor at Mathnasium of Southland, and a current PhD student in Business Administration at the University of Calgary. With extensive teaching experience with high school and university students, Saman enriches the Mathnasium of Southland with his deep educational expertise. His passion for teaching is driven by a commitment to inspire and empower learners of all ages, fostering a comprehensive understanding and appreciation for the subject matter. Saman is eager to apply his skills in a vibrant and engaging setting, contributing to a culture of enthusiasm and learning. In his leisure time, Saman enjoys hiking, going to the gym, and watching movies. His goal is to make a lasting impact on students, helping them see the value and beauty of mathematics in everyday life.
