Rafael began his career as an engineer before shifting his focus to his true passion: math education. Since the late 1990s, he has worked to demystify math and help students succeed through positive, confidence-building instruction. Rafael has been a leader in the STEAM education space, supporting after-school programs and institutions with his expertise in science, technology, and the arts.
He is inspired by the Mathnasium Method™ and has witnessed its impact firsthand through his own daughter’s success. His mission? To ensure no child ever feels they’re “not good at math”—because with the right support, every child can thrive.
Michael is a gifted mathematician with a passion for combinatorics and intuitive learning. He believes that math concepts should be understood from the ground up and works to help students develop strong mathematical intuition.
Outside of Mathnasium, Michael enjoys video games and tackling sudoku puzzles.
Karina is a dedicated Grade 12 student with a passion for both math and science. She enjoys working with children and values the unique qualities each student brings to the learning environment.
Karina hopes to pursue a career in healthcare with a focus on pediatrics, combining her love for learning and helping others.
Laura is a Grade 12 student who has always had a strong connection with math. She completed a co-op placement in a Grade 2/3 split class, where she developed her teaching and communication skills.
Laura is passionate about working with young children and plans to become an elementary school teacher. She brings patience, energy, and creativity to every lesson.
Yaline is completing her Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and brings a deep love of math to her role at Mathnasium. She enjoys solving complex challenges and guiding students through the problem-solving process.
In her free time, Yaline enjoys coding and staying active through fitness and personal development.
