Anoma brings over 20 years of experience as an educator, counselor, and researcher. She holds a BSc (Hons), MPhil, and PhD in Chemistry, along with an Instructor Diploma in Higher Education. Her passion for asking “why” led her from research to teaching and ultimately to Mathnasium, where she found a perfect match for her teaching philosophy.
As a mom of three, Anoma understands the importance of building strong academic foundations early. She loves helping kids grow in confidence and is dedicated to making math meaningful and fun for every student who walks through the door.
Larry Martinek has spent his entire career improving how students learn math. With experience teaching in inner-city public schools, private institutions, and magnet programmes, Larry has developed curriculum and trained teachers nationwide.
As the creator of the Mathnasium Method™, Larry designed one of the most comprehensive and innovative math programmes in the world. While he doesn’t teach at local centers, he remains a trusted advisor, offering insight and support for individual student needs and helping make every Mathnasium experience more effective and enjoyable.
Charith has been with Mathnasium of Tri-Cities since 2018. He holds a Computer Science Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and brings a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership to his role.
Outside of the center, Charith is a former competitive cricketer and passionate educator who enjoys exploring the “why” behind every math concept. He believes in fostering curiosity and confidence in students of all ages.
Aruna holds a diploma in accounting and financial management from Langara College and has been part of the Tri-Cities team since 2017.
He finds joy in helping students build their understanding and confidence through the Mathnasium Method. Aruna is especially motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s academic journeys.
Siyath is a Health Sciences student at Simon Fraser University and has been with Mathnasium for over five years. He has contributed to both instruction and community events, always bringing high energy and positivity to the center.
He loves working with younger students and takes pride in making math fun, engaging, and accessible. His passion for helping kids shines through in every session!
Ashton is a third-year student at UBC, pursuing a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He enjoys working with students, finding fulfillment in watching them grow more confident with math over time. In addition to teaching, Ashton likes to volunteer on his school campus, where he helps the food bank and assists in running math contests for youth. In his free time, Ashton enjoys playing Brawl Stars, where he is a proud Piper main.
Hasitha is a Statistics graduate and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Statistics. With a strong foundation in Mathematics and Statistics, Hasitha spots this as an ideal opportunity to apply and share the knowledge gained over the years. He has always been committed to continuous learning and helping others through his seven years of experience as a lecturer and researcher. With a friendly and enthusiastic personality, Hasitha is passionate about engaging students to make their learning experience fulfilling and enjoyable.
Minseo just finished her second year in SFU, majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. With her teenage experience of struggling in learning math, she understands how it feels like when students are stuck in a problem and deeply wants to assist their progress. As a volunteer instructor in a martial arts school, she enjoys working with kids and build a friendly relationship with them. Her favourite part in studying math is to learn new concepts and analyze how they are connected to one another. During her free time, she likes to play guitar and practice taekwondo.
Kasini Sanjana is an experienced Math Instructor with over 8 years of tutoring students from Grades 5–12. With a background in Applied Statistics and a passion for helping students build confidence in math, she delivers engaging, personalized lessons both in-person and online. Kasini is committed to making math make sense for every learner.
Justin is currently in his third year at Simon Fraser University, working toward a bachelor's degree in software engineering. He has a passion for supporting students in their learning journey, especially when it comes to building confidence in math. Outside of academics, Justin gives back to the community through volunteer work with organizations like Share Food Bank. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and is an enthusiastic cross-country runner.
Hanna is a first-year Business student at Simon Fraser University. She previously tutored French and now uses her math skills to help students learn and build confidence.
Pouya is a Biomedical Physiology student at Simon Fraser University with aspirations of attending medical school. He developed a strong talent for mathematics at an early age, solving double-digit problems as young as three years old. At Mathnasium, Pouya enjoys using his early love of numbers to inspire students and help them grow in confidence. Beyond academics, Pouya is also a pianist who finds joy in expressing himself through music.
