Clay Brown, Center Director/Owner

Clay is a Mathnasium veteran since 2006, with a passion to help students that struggle with math. After running multiple Mathnasium locations in Southern California for over 5 years, Clay and his wife decided to move to Colorado and immediately began serving their community. Clay loves to teach every student "something new" each day; challenging them, all while maintaining a fun, and engaging environment that builds confidence. Colorado certainly fits Clay and his family's personality, as they love to hike, fish, camp and play every sport that the State has to offer. Clay considers himself incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to continue to work at Mathnasium with such fantastic parents and students. He is eager to lay down roots in his new found home of Castle Rock and serve the community for many years to come.

"Wether you like it or not, you are a teacher. At your school, work, even on vacation, you always have the ability to teach someone something. You can choose to be a positive influence in someone's life. If you're lucky, you may just be able to help them overcome some negativity in their life. That is why I love working with students and helping them in math".

Mason James, Math Instructor

Hi, my name is  Mason. I graduated from Castle View High School in the class of 2015 with highest honors (which is just a fancy way of saying I finished with a GPA of 4.0+). All through school I have loved math and science, expecially life sciences. I have volunteered with Douglas County Libraries and Clear Sky Elementary PTO, working with students and parents.  I also tutored my friends and classmates in high school.  I am an avid board gamer, playing games like Magic: the Gathering, Settlers of Catan and, of course, Dungeons and Dragons. My family has two sphinx cats (hairless cats) that are always up to no good, but we love them none the less. I am excited to be working at Mathnasium and helping others see that math can be fun and easy; just give it a chance.

"I have always enjoyed the challenge of mathematics and I would like to share this passion to others who may not be enjoying school simply because they need a little more help. I feel that this is a great beginning to a career in education!"

 Sophia Jones, Math Instructor

Hey! My name is Sophia Jones.  I'm the junior class president at Castle View High School and am also involved in varsity speech and debate. I am super passionate about physics and hope to earn my degree in astorphysics after I graduate.  I love working with students of all ages and helping them understand the countless wonderful ideas that mathematics has to offer.  I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Colorado when I was very young. On the weekends, I spend my time at speech and debate tournaments, wathcing TED talks, spending time with my dogs, and catching up on sleep.
"The most valuable thing I have learned in the past few years is that there is no better feeling than finally understanding something you never thought you would."
