Tammie Yoakum

Owner
Hello, my name is Tammie Yoakum, and I grew up in Glendale with my sister/co-owner, Betsy. Before I started working in the center fulltime, I had a 30-year career in the premium finance industry. I was blessed to have that career, but Mathnasium is a ton more fun. The best part of being at Mathnasium is to see the "aha" moments and to see a students confidence grow. When I'm not working, I like spending time with my family and friends. I also love music, movies, reading and traveling.

Aliya Carrera

Assistant Center Director
Hi! My name is Aliya Carrera and I am a 2022 graduate from Pinnacle High School. I've been at Mathnasium for more than 2 years. I've grown so much from my time at the center and I'm excited to see how many lives I can continue to change and improve! Math is a tough subject for many, but I'm here to make it the universal language to all. In my free time, I love to draw/create art, and hang out with family and friends.

David Hampton

Online Instructor
Hello, my name is David Hampton. I am an online instructor here at Mathnasium. I am currently in my first year of college at ASU, where I study Biomedical Sciences. I graduated high school from Fountain Hills High School with an Honors Diploma. I also have six years of high school math experience, as I started Algebra 1 in 7th grade. I also know how to play several instruments with experience in high school and middle school band, and have obtained varsity letters from Track and Field and Cross Country.

Vinnie Caggiula

Online Instructor
Hi! My name is Vinnie Caggiula and I'm currently enrolled as a freshman in Computer Science at Arizona State University. I'm very passionate about fundamental and object-based learning, and I hope to share my expertise through becoming a Mathnasium tutor! Aside from math, I'm very passionate about music production and songwriting!

Michael Haradon

Instructor
A life long educator, I taught special education, English as a second language, and the humanities at all grade levels through junior college. Additionally, I have renovated homes, photographed professionally, lived in France and Spain, and was a downhill ski instructor. Currently, in addition to sharing my love of learning with young people here at Mathnasium, I restore old aircraft parts and build models of ships and aircraft with the goal of having my pieces placed in private collections and museums. I am delighted to be a Mathnasium staff member because of my love for helping the younger generations build their math skills and abilities and understand their importance in life, and also because I feel that Mathnasium provides the perfect forum for both teaching and learning math.

Sophia Herget

Instructor
Hello! My name is Sophia, and I'm currently a junior at Xavier College Preparatory High School. I am on the cheer team there too. I'm also a big fan of any math and sciences! Outside of school, I love music, reading and baking!

Keir Bradshaw

Instructor
Hello, my name is Keir Bradshaw and I am currently studying full-stack web development through ASU. I have always enjoyed math and I hope to share that with the students here at Mathnasium. In my free time, I like to play games with my friends and watch the Suns/Cardinals anytime they are playing!

Max Duncan

Instructor
My name is Max Duncan and I currently attend Rancho Solano Preparatory school as a junior. This is my first year at Mathnasium and I am excited to inspire Mathematics confidence within students. Outside of Mathnasium, I enjoy golf, video games and my dog.

Ian Elliot

Instructor
Hello! My name is Ian Elliot and I am currently a senior at Cactus Shadows High School. I love math; it's my favorite and strongest subject at school. I like Mathnasium as everyone there is very kind and welcoming. My hope for working at Mathnasium is to help kids get better at doing math and to help make it easier for them to understand.

Nandini Gopalakrishnan

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
