Tammie Yoakum

Tammie grew up in Glendale alongside her sister and co-owner, Betsy. Before joining Mathnasium full-time, she spent 30 years in the premium finance industry. Her favorite part of Mathnasium is witnessing students’ “aha” moments and watching their confidence grow.

She loves being part of a positive, student-focused environment where math makes sense. Outside of Mathnasium, Tammie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as music, movies, reading, and traveling.

Aly Norling

Aly was born and raised in Phoenix and recently graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in mathematics. With a background in cybersecurity, she combines analytical skills with her passion for teaching and helping students build confidence in math.

Outside of Mathnasium, Aly enjoys playing ice hockey and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and orienteering. She also loves to spend quiet time indoors reading and learning new things.

Dylan Urias

My name is Dylan and I am a graduate student studying Statistics at ASU.  I have always wanted to teach, so Mathnasium is a good fit for me.  Outside of school and work, I like playing bass guitar, volleyball, pickleball, working out and spending time with my family and friends.

Sameed Husain

Hi, my name is Sameed! I am a current sophomore at Mountain Ridge High School. I enjoy math because once you start understanding, it seems like a puzzle and is very fun. That is one of the reasons I like to teach here. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and looking at cars.

Hi, I’m Kayte and I am a junior at ASU. I am studying psychology and plan to go to law school. I love working with kids and being able to help them learn. In my free time, I love reading, playing tennis, and spending time with my dogs!

Brenna Dugan

Hi! My name is Brenna and I am currently a senior and Sunrise Mountain High School and attend the MET Professional Academy.  I love math because it feels like a puzzle.  I love working at Mathnasium because it gives me the opportunity to show other students that everyone is capable of succeeding in math. In my free time I love going to the gym, taking naps, playing with my pets, and hanging out with friends and family.  I also volunteer every weekend that I can.

Surya Sreenivasan

Hi, I’m Surya, a senior at BASIS Phoenix with a passion for mathematics. One of my favorite mathematical concepts is Euler’s identity because it brings together important concepts such as e, i, π, 0, and 1 into one elegant relationship. To me, that showcases what makes math so fascinating: it is a language that reveals connections throughout the world.
I’ve been helping my fellow students since 7th grade in math and a variety of subjects. Through tutoring in school, and other opportunities, I’ve worked with students across different ages and skill levels. These experiences have taught me that teaching is not just about explaining how to solve a problem—it’s about understanding how each student thinks, finding an explanation that works for them, and helping them become confident enough to solve the next problem by themselves.
Outside of mathematics, I love mountaineering. I’m excited to bring my love of learning to Mathnasium and help students develop their math and confidence.

Bhuvan Potlapalli

Hi! I’m a high school senior at BASIS Phoenix, and I enjoy math and helping others learn it. Outside of school, I like playing basketball and Fortnite. I’m excited to help students learn math and have fun with it!

Nina Pai

Hi! my name is Nina Pai and I am a Junior studying Finance at Arizona State University. I have always loved working with numbers, so I enjoy being able use this passion to help teach students. Outside of Mathnasium, I love traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with my friends and family!
