Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Amrish Bhargava, Center Director
Amrish is the Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Cave Creek. Prior to opening his Mathnasium center, Amrish worked as a Telecommunications Engineer for the past 35 years, specializing in the design of communications equipment and components. He has a Masters in Computer Engineering from Boston University College of Engineering and a BS in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, India. He has always believed that having a strong foundation in math helps tremendously in the pursuit of advanced education. The skill to reason that children learn from math transfers to all disciplines they may pursue in the future. A strong foundation in math builds confidence and confidence builds character. He is enthusiastic about helping every child understand math by teaching in a way that makes sense to them. He is committed to bringing excellent instructors and the Mathnasium Method to the children of the community. He is married with two kids.
Malika B, Senior Instructor
Malika is a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelor and Master in Biomedical Engineering, as well as a graduate of St. George's University, School of Medicine, where she received a Doctor of Medicine degree and an MBA. She is teaching at Mathnasium and doing research at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Malika's hobbies include reading, playing the flute, kickboxing, and traveling. She wants to use her time off to work with students and help them learn to love math as much as she does!
Hoveeg B, Senior Instructor
Ryan T, Senior Instructor
Ryan is a Senior at Cactus Shadows High School who has always had a passion for math. He became interested in helping others in mathematics when he began tutoring his older sister. Ryan wants to help as many people reach their full potential and enjoy math as much as he does. He also enjoys robotics, coding, and cross country.
Jim B, Senior Instructor
Jim graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and then served in the Air Force for 4 years. After taking graduate courses at the University of Illinois for a year, he went on to work as a Telecommunications Engineer for 40 years. He has 12 patents related to electrical circuit designs. Jim enjoys flying radio-controlled helicopters, hiking, and playing electric guitar. He also loves to apply math in the design of new electronic and mechanical products. He wants to help students get a good foundation in math so they will have opportunities to use it in whatever they decide to do.
Madalyn P, Senior Instructor
Madalyn is a Senior and Honor Roll student at BASIS Phoenix. She runs the school’s mock trial program, participates in Model UN, and takes several AP classes. She enjoys tutoring and wants to help others understand and excel in math.
Kiera F, Instructor
Kiera is a graduate of Pinnacle High School and is currently attending Arizona State University. She enjoys reading, drawing, puzzles, and coding.
Kiera's favorite math joke is:
Q: Why do people never say 288 in math class?
A: Because it's too gross.
Meher B, Instructor
Meher is a Junior at BASIS Scottsdale. She runs track and field and has competed in a state meet for discus. She is taking AP courses and has always had a huge passion for math. She helps her fellow classmates with problems they don't understand and tutors her little sister with her math concepts. Meher wants to show people how fun math is and wants to help grow their interest to the fullest potential.
Ishita M, Instructor
Ishita is a Senior at BASIS Scottsdale. Her interest in math has lead her to advance her learning in other analytical and logical subjects like Statistics, Discrete Math, Applied Math in the Real World, and Computer Science. While she loves math, she especially loves helping those who are struggling to find their passion for math. She finds it rewarding to see a student walk in relatively clueless about a concept and walk out that much closer to becoming a genius. In her spare time, she loves singing and plans to become a Certified Indian Classical Music Vocalist by January 2022!
