Daryl Gage, Owner/General Manager
Daryl has always had a passion for learning and helping others learn. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida and a Master of Science degree from the Defense Intelligence College in Washington D.C. He served 24 years in the military and is retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. During his Marine Corps career he specialized in Cryptologic Operations, Signal Intelligence, Information and Electronic Warfare. His duties included a tour at the National Security Agency and overseas in Iraq, Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Cuba. His desire to help kids not be afraid or intimidated by math prompted him to open a Mathnasium Learning Center. He believes it's a great way to give back to the community.
Peter Carr, Director of Operations
Peter is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. He majored in Management and Economics and has plans to pursue a Master's in Business Administration. His undergraduate degree required extensive math training from basic statistics up to matrix algebra and differential equations. While working as an AVID tutor in Virginia Beach Public Schools, he noticed that the majority of the students he worked with were struggling with math. He believes that the Mathnasium method is the best at addressing and correcting the various problems students have with math.
Maddie Earles, Center Director in Training
Maddie is a graduate of Longwood University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and a Minor in Computer Science. She loves playing fetch with her cat Han and taking trips to Busch Gardens with her eight-year-old cousin.
Favorite Number: Infinity...it goes on forever.
Favorite Math Joke: Why did the obtuse angle go to the beach? Because it was over 90 degrees!
I love Mathnasium because it gives kids a chance to excel. Kids find different ways to solve problems and I love seeing how they think.
Sue Kassel, Lead Instructor
Sue is a mother of five who has three degrees in Math and Electrical Engineering. She loves volunteering at school and church. In her spare time, she enjoys Sudoku and crossword puzzles.

I love Mathnasium because I enjoy working with children and math, and Mathnasium allows me to do both!
Everett Burns, Instructor
When he is not helping students with math, Everett plays the French Horn in the Virginia Symphony. He has a music degree from Indiana University and Rice University. VA is the sixth state he's lived in, and Mathnasium of Chesapeake is the fourth Mathnasium he has worked for. In addition to music and math, Everett enjoys reading, playing video games, hiking and making ice cream

Benjamin Olenick, Instructor
Benjamin is a college graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Virginia Tech. His love of math, with applications across every field, including population science, and his passion for inspiring the next generation of scientists drew him to Mathnasium. Ben loves bird watching and hiking in his free time and hopes to one day hike the El Camino!
Favorite Number: 64, The Nintendo 64 was a big part of his childhood.

I love Mathnasium because it is extremely fulfilling to see students come in and be excited to learn.
Daniel Olenick, Instructor
Daniel is an Engineering Major planning on changing to a Vocal Education Major to follow his passion for music and teaching kids. He loves singing, playing piano, and live streaming. He continues to improve his musical skills day by day to hopefully become a conductor.

Madeline Eller, Instructor
Madeline is a graduate of Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor's in Psychology, a minor in Mathematics and a Master's in Elementary Education. She has been working with students for over ten years and math has always been her favorite subject to learn and teach. She also enjoys, cooking, shopping and being outs

Carrie Brown, Instructor
Carrie is a junior in the IB program at Oscar Smith High School. She enjoys sailing, playing tennis, and camping in her free time. Her favorite subjects have always been math and science, and she hopes to be a pilot one day.

Greydon Sarvis, Instructor
Greydon is a senior at Grassfield High School in the Governor's STEM Academy. He is an Eagle Scout and loves all things outdoors including backpacking on the Appalachian Trail. He loves movies and one of his favorite places to be is at the movie theater. In the Fall of 2022, he will be studying Computer Science at North Carolina State University.

Dave Weddle, Instructor
Dave is a retired small business manager and father of four homeschooled children. He started working at Mathnasium because his children thought he would be a kind and patient instructor. He enjoys doing outdoor activities with his wife and children.
Favorite Number: 3. It reminds me of triangles, which are stable, strong, and useful.
Favorite Math Joke: Why can't a nose be 12 inches long? Because then it would be a foot.
