Sue is a proud mother of five who brings warmth and expertise to Mathnasium. With three degrees in Math and Electrical Engineering, she combines a love of problem solving with years of experience helping students grow in confidence and skill.
She’s an active volunteer in her church and local schools and believes learning should always be engaging. In her spare time, Sue enjoys Sudoku, crossword puzzles, and any activity that keeps her mind sharp and curious.
Dave is a retired small business manager and proud father of four homeschooled children. Encouraged by his kids to share his patience and love of learning, he joined Mathnasium to help students find confidence and enjoyment in math.
Outside of the classroom, Dave spends time with his wife and children exploring the outdoors and staying active as a family. His calm, encouraging approach helps students overcome challenges and discover that math can be both meaningful and fun.
Kathy holds degrees in Math, Physics, and Numerical Analysis, and has spent her career applying math to a variety of professional and volunteer roles. Her passion for the subject extends into her personal life, where she finds mathematical beauty in creative pursuits like sewing and photography.
At Mathnasium, Kathy enjoys helping students connect math concepts to the world around them and develop confidence in their problem-solving skills. She loves seeing students realize how math is woven into everyday life—and even once taught her rescue beagle to count to three.
Daniel is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at TCC, where his curiosity for coding and problem solving continues to grow. His interest in math began in middle school, where he competed on a math team that advanced to the state level, sparking his lifelong appreciation for numbers and logic.
At Mathnasium, Daniel helps students strengthen their understanding through patience and clarity, making each concept approachable and meaningful. When he’s not tutoring, he enjoys board games, creative writing, and exploring how technology and math intersect.
Abigale is a senior in high school who is going to major in Math Education at Tech to become a high school or college math teacher. Abigale loves math and reading books. She loves mathnasium because she is able to help of all levels and share her love for math with them.
Sofia is a sophomore at GFHS in the STEM Program. She loves math, writing, playing the cello, and running track. She loves to teach math and looks forward to working with kids every week!
Rebecca is a Secondary Math Education Major at ODU. She mostly plays fortnite, COD, and Zelda in her free time. She also loves to read fantasy books. Rebecca loves Mathnasium because the kids are awesome and she gets to work on math problems.
Nate is senior at GFHS who is pursing a career as an engineer through the STEM academy. He loves nature and cooking. Fishing is one of his favorite past times. Nate loves Mathnasium because assisting students with furthering their math skills and showing improvement is amazing.
Hannah is a sophomore at GFHS. She loves reading, art, and playing piano and flute. Hannah plans to study either linguistics or film in university.
Nic is a graduate from ODU. He received a BS in Applied Mathematics. In his free time his likes to study data analytics and skateboard at the park. In the future he would like to take music lessons and make his own music. Nic enjoys working with students because it is like solving puzzles and he enjoys helping solve heir puzzles
