At Mathnasium, we help kids understand math by teaching the way that makes sense to them. Children who consistently attend sessions at our learning centers enjoy a transformative learning experience and make huge strides in the classroom.
Attitude: When math makes sense, kids develop a more positive attitude toward math.
Understanding: Mathnasium teaches for understanding, giving students the ability to succeed in any math environment. As Larry Martinek, Mathnasium’s Chief Instructional Officer notes, “It's pretty easy to forget things you memorize and near impossible to forget things you understand."
School Progress: When kids learn math in a way that they truly understand, they achieve greater success in the classroom.

Solid math program and fantastic staff. My children's math skills and enjoyment of math have both grown steadily.

So far so good. My daughter loves it here. Constantly reminding me and bugging me about when we're going. The tutors are friendly and highly knowledgeable of math and its workings.

My two kids (6th and 3rd graders) enjoy coming here and say the teachers are fun and engaging. I don't have to force them to go at all!! Now that is saying something! The staff are always very friendly and welcoming + they send great progress reports to keep track of and understand student progress. I would definitely recommend Mathnasium DePaul :D. Thanks for being awesome, Mark and crew!

My kids have been attending Mathnasium West DePaul for 3 years. I take them there for summer brush-up so they don't forget what they've learned during the year. This center has been great for that purpose, as well as bringing math confidence to both my kids. One of them is not a huge math fan, but she rarely complains about going. The prizes they give the kid are a great motivator and the instructors are all excellent. We're really happy we found Mathnasium, too. And I notice with every passing year, I see more and more families that I know there. Everyone has wonderful things to say about this center and about Mark. I should mention, that we are all driving 20 minutes to this particular center, which is a bit of a distance from our neighborhood, but it's definitely been worth it.
Yelp! Four Star Review 5/4/2011
My 9 y.o. daughter has been coming here for a few months and also enjoys her time here. She's in an advanced track program at her school, and while she did OK at math, I could sometimes see her struggling.
Since coming here she has improved her math performance at school as well as her overall concentration. Her school teacher mentioned the change in her before I said we'd been doing anything different.
I'm glad we found Mathnasium.
Yelp! Five Star Review 12/29/2010
My three daughter (ages 9 to 11) have been attending Mathnasium since they opened and my husband and I are thrilled with everything about it! Unlike other, often over-crowded learning centers they have attended in the past, my children not only don't complain about going, but actually want to go!!!! Mark Kriston, the owner, and instructors Ashley and Christa are amazing teacher who take a genuine interest in their students.
The teaching methods they use are a combination of written and tactile, and although I can't explain exactly how the "Mathnasium method" works, I can attest to its effectiveness. Not only have all thee of my children made substantial progress in math in a very short time, their learning confidence - which is directly linked to academic achievement - has quadrupled!! I can't say enough positive things about West DePaul Mathnasium and highly recommend it to any parent whose child may be struggling with math or is under-challenged. You won't be sorry!
