Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Adrian

Academic Director

Adrian earned his B.S. in Math Education from Northwestern University, where he also marched proudly as a member of the Northwestern University Marching Band. With experience as both a teacher and assistant teacher in several Chicago and Evanston high schools, he has developed math curricula and built strong connections with students. He also holds an Illinois Type 09 teaching certification.

At Mathnasium, Adrian brings his passion for making math both clear and exciting. He is especially interested in learning more about topology in the future and enjoys inspiring students to explore math beyond the classroom.

Sean

Instructor

Sean earned a B.M. in Music Performance from Northwestern University and an M.M. in Music Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently completing a Post-Master’s Certificate at DePaul University. Alongside his music career, Sean has always had a love of teaching and has tutored math since high school, including two years at a Mathnasium in Los Angeles.

He enjoys cooking—especially Italian and Korean dishes—and believes math, like music or food, is about finding patterns and creating understanding. Sean looks forward to deepening his knowledge of calculus while helping students succeed.

Alex

Instructor

Alex holds an M.A. in Sustainable Urban Development and a B.A. in Economics with minors in Mathematics and International Politics from DePaul University. He has a strong background in math tutoring, beginning in high school, and now enjoys guiding students toward clarity and confidence in their studies.

Outside of Mathnasium, Alex stays active by biking and playing water polo. He hopes to dive deeper into game theory in the future and is excited to help students see how math connects to real-world problem solving.

Byron

Instructor

Byron graduated with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Florida State University. His early experiences include working as a junior camp counselor, where he first discovered his enjoyment of mentoring and supporting younger learners. At Mathnasium, he brings patience and enthusiasm to each session, encouraging students to approach math with curiosity.

Having lived in two countries and three states, Byron values adaptability and diverse perspectives. He hopes to expand his knowledge in modern physics while helping students build a solid foundation in math that can support their future goals.
