Reed Fendley

Owner
Reed graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Washington & Lee University in 1997, and he also has an M.A. in Social Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University in the City of New York. A former history teacher on the secondary and undergraduate levels, Reed is a firm believer in the value of a strong liberal arts and sciences education. When students are encouraged to “cross-train” their learning, focusing on STEM courses as well as the arts and humanities, lives are forever enriched and potential career paths are multiplied. This lifelong interest in learning, along with the practical belief that quality math instruction should be an integral part of every child’s education, encouraged Reed to join his brother, Daniel, in opening their first Mathnasium Learning Center here in Clarksville. He is excited about transforming the way kids learn math as an involved owner, and he is eager to see lives changed as kids learn to become non-routine problem solvers. When Reed is not at the center helping math make sense for kids, he enjoys traveling, training for marathons, playing golf poorly, reading literature and spending time on his family farm.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
