A message from Rick and Vivi about Scheduling

Mar 18, 2020 | Columbus Bradley Park

Dear Mathnasium Family,

At Mathnasium, the well-being of our families is always our first priority. We are keeping up with the latest information on the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and wanted to share some notes with you on how we are working to keep our center the safest place it can be for your children.

As you have already heard from the news and from your school, Muscogee County School District is proceeding with emergency closure effective March 16-April 5, 2020 in light of the public health emergency declared by Governor Brian Kemp.

Our center will remain open with our regular center hours to serve our students and help them with their Math homework or assignments assigned during this time. Although there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases here in Columbus GA,  we are implementing measures in our center based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

We are emphasizing hygiene standards for all students and staff and reinforcing the importance of proper handwashing procedures after sneezing, coughing, and using the bathroom. We are cleaning and sanitizing our work areas every hour. Hand sanitizers are available starting from the sign-in area, where students will be requested to sanitize their hands prior signing-in. There are also hand sanitizers in every table that the students can use during their session or whenever necessary. We are also implementing additional cleaning protocols with disinfectants for all communal surfaces including tables, chairs, doors, etc. During their sessions, we will be maintaining 6 ft distance between students to avoid close contact.

On Wednesday, 18 March 2020,

We will be implementing scheduled visits in 1-hour intervals starting at the top of each hour: 3pm-4pm, 4pm-5pm, 5pm-6pm, 6pm-7pm, and 7pm-8pm.

We will be assigning 15 slots in each hour. In this regard, please reserve your preferred 1-hour slot for your session

Any students that arrive between hours may be asked to return at the top of the next hour. This will help us in efficiently implementing our crowd control.  We also encourage timely dropping in and picking up of students at the top of the hour to avoid crowding in the waiting area. Please assist us in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment for our students, staff, and families.

In addition to following the CDC's guidance, we will be monitoring the actions of schools in our area to make decisions on a daily basis that are right for our community. For any students exhibiting flu-like symptoms, we highly recommend to keep them home and please wait until the symptoms subside before coming back to the center. For you advanced information, we have an upcoming program for at home web based math sessions called Mathnasium @Home that we will be implementing very soon.

These measures are temporary but necessary precautions to safeguard everyone's health during these times. We are hopeful that we will go back to normal operations in the next few weeks. We will continue to provide you with regular updates through our Facebook and Website whenever this situation evolves. Please reach out to our center at any time if you have any concerns that we can address.
