Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

Pauline Ho, Center Director 

Pauline has been a Medical Laboratory Scientist for over 15 years, using Math and Science in her daily work. She understands the importance of having a strong foundation in Math opens many opportunities to a child’s future. Pauline graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology and finished some graduate course work at the University of St. Thomas. Pauline is married to an Electrical Engineer and is raising two gifted children who thoroughly enjoy the Mathnasium experience.   Pauline decided to open a Mathnasium center in Cottage Grove to help children improve their Math skills and as a way of giving back to the community that they have lived in for the last ten years.


Mika Linke, Assistant Center Director

Mika is a Preschool Teacher with the Little Sprouts Childcare and Preschool where she designs an inquiry-based, early childhood curriculum that focuses on mathematical conceptualization and pre-literacy skills, as well as science, social studies, and character education. She has also been an AVID Tutor with the South Washington County School District. As an AVID tutor, Mika taught students to utilize problem solving methodology and techniques during tests and assignments. She created an interactive environment to maintain student interest and facilitate learning.  Most importantly, Mika encourage students to persevere with challenging tasks they encounter in their learning.


Michael Cauthorn, Instructor

Michael is a studious Senior at East Ridge High School.  He is the captain of the math team and has a love for Math and Logic. When he graduates high school, Michael wants to major in Computer Science. Besides school, Michael participates in Debate in the Summer and Fall. Before Mathnasium, Michael successfully tutored a student who has since graduated high school, and now attends college.

Drew Balint, Instructor

Drew is a gifted student at Park High School. He has an unconditional love for Math and wants to become a math teacher. Besides school and work, Drew plays Football in the Summer and Fall.


Aubrey Rekstad, Instructor

Aubrey is an athletic Junior at Park High School. She is involved with Link Crew and plays for the girls lacrosse team. After highschool, she plans on studying Architectural Engineering. Aubrey enjoys her art and math classes in school, and hopes to build lasting relationships with the students at Mathnasium.  


Megan Maloney, Instructor

Megan is a bubbly sophmore at Park Highschool. She is involved in Leaders of the Pack, Soccer, and Lacrosse. After highschool, she plans on going to school for Sports Medicine and Spanish. In her free time, Megan enjoys oil painting, chemistry and math. She enjoys tutoring and is always excited to acheive that "ah-ha" moment.
