Scott

Mathnasium @Home Instructor
Scott studied at Northern Arizona University and earned a degree a Mathematics in 2017. He tutored math before on a voluntary basis before working at Mathnasium. For him, it's not just about the math, it's encouraging as many people as possible to get into a STEM program for college. These fields are a foundation of future education. Fav Math Joke: My girlfriend is like the square root of -100. A perfect 10 but imaginary. Fun Facts: He grew up in San Diego where his parents own a whole sale plant nursery (for over 30 years!). He enjoys a good game of poker and aspires to be a pod-caster.

Calvin

Math Instructor
Calvin is currently a senior in high school who has taken college-level math courses. With prior experience in teaching and tutoring, he is skilled in simplifying complex topics. As a Mathnasium instructor, he is dedicated to nurturing a love for math in young minds. Fav Math Joke: "Why did the student do multiplication problems on the floor? -- The teacher said they needed to practice doing them without tables!". Fun Fact: Beyond math, he does a lot of coding, which also requires a lot of math knowledge.

Kaden

Math Instructor
Kaden has received 20 5's on AP exams, a 1590 SAT score, a 36 ACT, competed nationally in the Math League competition 4x, is a 2x qualifier for the AIME, and is a member of the Stanford Math Circle. In terms of tutoring, he has instructed students from 3rd - 12th grade both privately and through his school for over 500 hours in the last 7 years. Over many hours of instruction, he has learned that he enjoys seeing a look of sudden understanding come across a student's face after being taught something they had previously found difficult. He also believes that anyone has the ability to achieve what they desire, as long as they are given the right resources, and he is thrilled to be able to be the person that can provide those resources for them here at Mathnasium. Outside of an academic setting, he spends the majority of his time playing Basketball or Soccer, and has grown up with a strong appreciation for the outdoors, so he loves going camping and hiking to escape the valley heat. Fav Math Joke: Do you know why seven eight nine? -- Because you’re supposed to eat three squared meals a day! Fun Fact: Kaden currently holds the title of State and National Champion in the United States Academic Decathlon competition.

Mandy

Math Instructor
Mandy has worked for Mathnasium for more than ten years now! She graduated from Brigham Young University – Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has always loved teaching and helping others. She loves to work with kids. In her free time, she likes to read, watch movies, and work on genealogy. Fun Fact: She has kissed the Blarney Stone.

Morgan

Math Instructor
Morgan is currently attending college at CGCC. She is passionate about being an instructor at Mathnasium because she believes that truth is beauty and math can be found in all kinds of truth and beauty, be it sciences, music, or even art. She believes that if kids can learn to utilize it and even hopefully learn to love it, it can open up so much awareness and appreciation for the world around us. Fun Facts: She likes to try a lot of new things: dance, choir, cross country, swim, acting, baking. She loves to read and write, and learn pretty much anything new.
