As a math-learning center, our list focuses on museums with an element of math.
Math Museums
What is not to love about a museum dedicated to illustrating math concepts in a concrete, fun, and interactive way? The only museum in the United States dedicated entirely to math is The National Museum of Mathematics in Manhattan. Several museums, like the Exploratorium in San Francisco and the Museum of Science in Boston, have permanent math exhibits. Many other science museums contract with the travelling math exhibits like MathAlive! and Math Moves!
Children’s Museums
The exhibits at children’s museums engage young minds and foster thinking and creativity in many areas, including math. Some children’s museums target ages 1-12. Science Centers

Aerospace Museums
Humans would never have been able to take to the skies without the help of math. Engineers and pilots must use complex math to account for variables like wind speed, air density, distance, and fuel economy. Aerospace museums ignite interest in flying machines such as, rockets, airplanes, helicopters, and hot-air balloons. Many museums have interactive displays and simulators where visitors can explore many math concepts related to flight. The National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC is especially impressive.
