Nick van Vliet

Operations Director

Nick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance from Cal State Northridge. Since joining Mathnasium in 2014, he has served as Center Director in multiple locations including Irvine, Diamond Bar, and Phoenix before returning to serve his hometown of Santa Clarita. 

Nick is passionate about fostering a caring environment where students can grow their confidence and conquer math challenges. He enjoys coaching, mentoring, and encouraging students to work hard and reach their full potential. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, snowboarding, barbecuing, and competing in just about any game.

Sherin Yueksel

District Manager

Sherin graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. She began her journey with Mathnasium as an instructor in 2021 and quickly advanced to Assistant Director, helping launch Mathnasium of Valencia. 

Sherin is driven by a desire to make a positive impact in her community and help students excel in math. She believes in building welcoming spaces where every student feels seen and supported. In her free time, Sherin enjoys spending time with her family, cooking new recipes, and shopping.

Enoch

Instructor

Enoch is soon to graduate from College of the Canyons, studying nursing with plans to become a nurse anesthetist. He loves helping kids understand math concepts and watching their excitement when a difficult idea finally clicks. 

Outside of school and work, Enoch enjoys longboarding, playing basketball, jamming on his drum set, listening to music, and enjoying milkshakes with friends.

Rachel

Instructor

Rachel attended Academy of the Canyons and is now at California State University Northridge, majoring in Kinesiology.

Rachel is passionate about creating a fun, supportive environment where students build confidence and community. In her free time, she enjoys rollerblading, watching One Piece, and spending time with her dog, family, and friends.

Sarah

Instructor

Sarah is currently attending College of the Canyons in hopes of pursuing a career within the medical field. Math has always been a subject that she has enjoyed due to how all the concepts connect and create a unique language. She has experience tutoring kids in several different areas, and always tries to help them push their limits and improve every day. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music, cooking, and crocheting.


Vaibhav

Instructor

Vaibhav is a freshman at college pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Math has always been a subject he has enjoyed and he wishes to help kids who are struggling in math. He loves to see people push themselves to thrive and become better than they already were. In his free time, Vaibhav loves to watch sports, spend time with friends, and listen to music.  

Josh

Instructor

Josh is a recent graduate from UC Santa Barbara, where he got his Bachelor’s in Statistics and Data Science. He chose the field of statistics because he loves applying his mathematics knowledge to issues faced in the real world. He has previous experience working as a respite worker, where he taught children on thespectrum both academic and social concepts. Josh hopes to continue his education in the future with a Master’s in Statistics and Data Science. In his free time, Josh loves to play the guitar, listen to music, hang out with friends, and (will eventually learn how to) skateboard.

Amir

Instructor
Amir is a student at COC and is majoring in Economics. Amir has played piano for 15 years, and taught children how to play for a few years.  He hopes to give children the best education he can and meet their specific needs. He enjoys teaching children math in ways that they can enjoy at Mathnasium. Amir hopes to later attend graduate school for Economics. In his free time, he enjoys skating, working out, and playing games. 

Andrea

Instructor

Andrea is a senior at Hart High School and is looking to go to a four year college with the Pre-Med Pathway. She has always gotten along with kids and has enjoyed teaching all her peers in math throughout all her high school years. Andrea is passionate about guiding our future generations into a better world with math in a fun and easy way. In her free time, Andrea likes to explore new cafes, and loves to spend time with her dog, Bolt.

Layla

Instructor

Layla is currently pursuing a biology degree at UCLA, in hopes of becoming an orthodontist in the future! Math has always been one of Layla's favorite subjects throughout school, and her passion continues to develop with time. What truly drives her is working with children. At Mathnasium, she is dedicated to helping young minds discover their math potential, and fostering confidence, curiosity, and creativity. Layla truly believes that math can be fun for everyone! When not in the education setting, you'll find her outdoors, often at the beach, where she finds inspiration and balance!

Alex

Instructor

Alex has degrees in architecture and animation. He especially enjoys the intersection of arts and sciences, has worked in a variety of educational environments and is excited to bring his past experiences to the mathnasium community. Outside of work he likes to make comics, take super long walks, cook for people and build things that others find useful.

Dana Dalmacio

Dana, a proud native of Guam, holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Pepperdine University. With a rich background in tutoring, including experience at Mathnasium during college, and a role as a middle school science teacher, Dana returned to Mathnasium driven by a deep connection with its mission to empower students in understanding math and building confidence in problem-solving. Her passion for helping students grasp mathematical concepts complements her commitment to creating a Mathnasium environment where each student receives the tools and support needed to flourish. Away from numbers, Dana finds fulfillment in training in martial arts, embracing mind-body exercises, and expressing herself through free-style dancing.

Luke Hartung

Luke is graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Management from Grand Canyon University. In his previous experience, he helped connect families with programs and resources while working for the city of Santa Clarita’s parks and recreation department. He was also an enrollment coordinator for a child care company. Luke loves helping children to understand new concepts and to overcome challenges, and is thrilled to have that opportunity at Mathnasium. Luke loves Santa Clarita and looks forward to helping students in the community to learn and master math and to grow in their confidence. He strives to make Mathnasium a place where students are warmly welcomed and given the individual instruction and support they need to succeed. He loves spending his spare time gardening, going to the beach, and hiking the beautiful Southern California mountains.
