Olivia Lum
Center Director
Hi all, my name is Olivia. I am so thrilled to join the Mathnasium family as the Center Director for Mathnasium Alamo! Since graduating from Colgate University I have worked in the education system as a teacher, a school administrator, and a 1:1 aide for a neurodiverse high school student. I am very passionate about education, but I am excited to finally be able to focus on the best subject: math!
When I am not at work, I am re-watching my favorite comfort tv shows with my fiancé, hanging out with friends, reading a good book, or cuddling up with my cat!
I cannot wait to meet all of you and support your children's math journeys!

Jaxson
Instructor
I am a Senior at UC Berkeley studying Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Economics. I graduated from Grossmont Community College in 2023 with degrees in Mathematics and University Studies - Math, Natural Science, and Computer Science. While in community college, I tutored my fellow classmates in calculus 1, 2, 3, differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics. I had several jobs throughout community college, but tutoring was my favorite by far and I'm glad to be doing it again.
Ryan

I am a senior studying Computer Science with a passion for helping others understand difficult concepts. I have experience tutoring peers in programming and algorithms, breaking down challenging topics into clear and manageable ideas. When I’m not at Mathnasium, I enjoy rock climbing, learning Russian, and staying active at the gym.

Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout. Pricing varies by program and geographic area. Contact our center for more details on enrollment packages.

No. All learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. Adding homework would risk frustration and overload. In fact, we'll set aside some time each session to help your student with their school homework.
