Center Director
Hillary graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a teaching certificate for grades 7–12. She’s passionate about educational equity and dreams of starting a school or organization that ensures every student has the opportunity to succeed. At Mathnasium, she brings warmth, skill, and a commitment to student growth.
In her free time, Hillary enjoys spending time with her dog and family, traveling, being in nature, and exploring new crafts. Her favorite math joke? “What do you call an angle that’s gone through the garbage disposal? A wrecked-angle!”
Huyana Phan
Lead Instructor
Huyana is a high school student at Health Careers High School and a proud member of the NHS for math. Originally from San Jose, California, she’s passionate about helping others learn and hopes to pursue a career in the medical field—even if science isn’t her favorite subject!
She loves all things thrilling, from action movies to rollercoasters, and enjoys watching sports, K-dramas, anime, and Spanish and American TV. Her favorite math joke? “Why was six afraid of seven? Because seven eight nine!”
Blanca Bryant
Instructor
Blanca joined Mathnasium first as a student in 8th grade and now returns as an instructor! She graduated in 2023 from the Christian School at Castle Hills with 31 college credits from Colorado Christian University and is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology with hopes of becoming a counselor.
Outside of math, Blanca enjoys drawing, swimming, music, and watching cooking shows, superhero movies, and animal documentaries. She’s also a major fan of The Lion King. Her favorite math joke is: “What did the right side of the number line say to the left side? ‘Why are you always so negative?!’”
Sam Le
Instructor
Sam is currently a high school student at Health Careers and a member of the Junior Classical League. He’s passionate about learning fun medical facts and random trivia and enjoys exploring new ideas through teaching and tutoring at Mathnasium.
When he’s not studying, you’ll find Sam sleeping, sketching, or listening to music. His favorite math joke? “Why did the boy eat his math homework? He thought it was a piece of cake!”

Our teaching approach combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques and face-to-face tutoring in a supportive group environment to help students build strong math foundations and improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
We offer math-only tutoring through a flat monthly membership. Most students attend 2–3 times per week. Following the initial assessment, we’ll create a personalized learning plan with a recommended frequency of sessions to support their individual needs and academic goals.
