Jesse graduated from UC Berkeley in 2019 with a degree in Molecular Biology. He brings energy and enthusiasm to the Mathnasium team, helping students grow in confidence and skill.
In his free time, Jesse enjoys playing real-life quidditch, board games, and poker.
Andre holds an Electrical Engineering degree from McGill University and spent over 25 years in telecommunications and multimedia. Before Mathnasium, he was a Senior VP at iHeartRadio in NYC.
A longtime educator and coach, Andre opened Mathnasium of Albany-Berkeley to provide students with personalized math support. He’s lived in Canada, Germany, Panama, and the U.S., and is a proud local parent and community advocate.
Matthew holds a BS in Physics from UC Berkeley. He enjoys helping kids understand math concepts and build confidence. In his free time he can be found playing video games, riding bikes or playing pickle ball. His favorite food is chicken.
Christie holds a B.A. in Humanities from CSU Chico. She enjoys creating a welcoming environment for families at Mathnasium.
Outside of work, she loves biking, baking cookies, and spending time in the park with her nieces and nephew.
Zoe is a high school student in Albany. She likes that math can help you solve real life problems, and that there often is more than one way to get to the solution. She enjoys helping students find new ways to get to the solution. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, biking, and making art.
Tiegan is a student at Albany High School where she enjoys learning alongside her classmates. As an instructor at Mathnasium, Tiegan finds satisfaction in helping students build solid strategies to solve math problems. Outside of school, Tiegan loves to spend time with friends and family, snowboard, golf, draw and read.
Rojina is a Junior at Albany High School. When she's not busy with school and work, she enjoys reading, listening to music and cooking. She loves cooking pasta with her Mom!
Tamim is a Senior at Albany High School in Calculus AB. He likes solving math problems that can be done mentally, and finds great satisfaction when new formulas and theorems are learned. He also loves exercising, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and playing video games.
Francisco is a graduate student at the University of San Francisco in the International and Development Economics program. Francisco does climate impact research using geospatial data, particularly on coastal communities. He constantly uses multivariable calculus and other higher-order math to construct models and to explain the various interactions of the natural world and human behavior. He plays ultimate frisbee and soccer in his free time and even captains his own co-ed adult soccer team in Berkeley. What he enjoys about math is how every problem is like a puzzle, just waiting to be solved.
Jessica is a Math Student at UC Berkeley. She was born and raised in LA and enjoys taking dance classes, baking and snuggling with her cat Leonardo DiCatrio.
Desmond is currently a Junior at the College Preparatory School. He plays varsity soccer and track. He has played piano for around 10 years, and specializes in jazz piano. He also played trumpet for a few years in elementary and middle school. He has several pets, two birds and around 100 little cosmetic shrimp! He hopes to bring a positive attitude to any lesson, and make math interesting and fun for kids so they can develop mathematically.
Zoya is a student at Hercules high and is currently in their Calculus class. She was born and raised In Pinole California and enjoys gardening, cooking, and sleeping.
Lea graduated from UC Berkeley and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Data Science. She has a passion for mathematics and enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with dogs.
Katie is a sophomore at Albany High School. She was born and raised in Albany, and in her free time she likes to read classics, make muffins, hike with her dog Jax, and spend time with her 2 cats, Coco and Leo.
Tuguldur is a junior at Albany High School. He likes to spend his time studying and listening to music.
Abi is a junior at Albany High School, currently taking Pre-Calculus Honors. She loves helping students develop their problem-solving skills to understand math. Besides school and work, she loves to play soccer, draw, spend time with friends and family, and go on hikes with her dog.
Jaida is a student at Albany Highschool. She enjoys reading, math, writing, and playing piano in her free time. At home, she hangs out with her two dogs, Luna and Coconut. Jaida hopes to make math a little easier and more enjoyable for others.
Anya is a junior at Albany high. Her favorite subjects are science and math. In her spare time she likes to dance, paint, cook, and bake. She hopes to encourage other kids to improve their math and have fun while doing it!
Rosana recently graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, but is making the switch to psychology so she can help others live meaningful, whole lives as a therapist. She likes to cook, lift weights, go on hikes and road trips, attend concerts (including orchestras), play board games and role playing games, and volunteer for family events at her church community. She looks forward to helping Mathnasium students overcome math anxiety, strengthen their math skills, and find the joy in learning.
