Jo is a graduate from Cal State LA in Biology. She held an Associate Degree in Natural Science in PCC and will be pursuing a medical degree to be a Registered Nurse in the future. Jo works extremely well with our students, particularly the younger and early learners as she shares her passion in STEM to students at the center. Jo is passionate in helping every student to unlock their potential and be successful academically at school. In her spare time, Jo enjoys reading and is a foodie.
Stephen graduated with honors from UC Irvine as a double major in Psychological Science and Business Economics. He is currently studying to acquire a teaching credential program at Cal State LA. Stephen completed the Google IT Support Professional certificate course in preparation for the CompTIA A+ certification. Stephen believes that every student is capable of great achievement regardless of background as Math can be learned by any student with the right support and encouragement. In his free time, Stephen enjoys weightlifting, plays video games, and takes care of his family.
John is currently pursuing a career in real estate while also working toward completing his bachelor’s degree in psychology, balancing both education and professional growth. Previously John worked at Kaiser Permanente’s Youth Program where he attended educational sessions and motivational workshops - working exclusively with younger students to be more engaged and interested in STEM. Beyond his career and academic pursuits, John has a strong interest in traveling, where he enjoys discovering new places and cultures, as well as engaging in creative outlets like movies and music.
Justin is a graduate from Northwester University with a degree in Computer Science. He aspires to pursue a career in either software development, data analysis or education in the future. Previously, Justin worked for a research lab that developed was and algorithm used in Minecraft as an education resource to teach students the importance of critical thinking skills. In his spare time, Justin loves to play board games, tennis and watching shows.
Chang is a UC Berkeley graduate majoring in Compute Science (with a minor in Data Science). He is currently working on developing a mobile fitness application and aspires to be a tech startup founder in the future. Chang enjoys various team sports and work out such as volleyball and basketball, and kickboxing. Chang works very well with older students, particularly those who are above pre-Algebra and beyond.
Jessica is a graduate from UC Riverside with a degree in Computer Science. She is currently applying for a graduate degree in Data Science. Jessica is very versatile working with those in kindergarten to those who are doing advanced Math classes in high school. During her free time, she enjoys crocheting, opening blind boxes and collecting figures and plushies of her favorite characters.
Ashley is a graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in Mathematics. She graduated with Honors and was a UCLA CCCP Scholar. She is interested in teaching and education technology and plans to have a teaching credential in the near future. Previously during her time at Arcadia High School, Ashley was an accomplished student who played varsity basketball and served her community as a middle school TA/afterschool tutor, children's ministry leader, and youth basketball coach. Her academic journey and volunteer experience have taught her the importance of strong mentorship and diligence, especially when a subject is challenging. She is committed to closing the education gap by sharing her passion for STEM, investing in meaningful connections, and preventing math from filtering out underprivileged youth from STEM careers. In her free time, Ashley enjoys reading, working out, and snowboarding.
