Our learning center team just returned from the 2023 Mathnasium Convention in Orlando, Florida. This international convention is designed to bring together representatives from hundreds of North American and international franchises to share best practices and recognize top performers.
Our team was awarded as Top 5 Owners for the second year in a row; our sixth year in the Top 10!
In addition to being honored as top performers in a franchise of 1,000+ learning centers, our team received our corporate’s highest education honor, Best Assessment Improvement. This award is given to the team with the highest average student growth in the first six months of 2023. As if the education award wasn’t exciting enough, our team was recognized as Best Overall Marketing in North America. This award celebrates our learning center’s involvement in our local community and schools. That’s two top honors for our learning centers!
On top of our owners awards, our learning center is celebrating becoming members of the Bronze Club this year.
We would like to thank our management team and instructional staff for their great work year round for our students. These accolades are a reflection of their dedication to Mathnasium’s mission of transforming lives through math.
We would also like to thank the families that share their students with us. Seeing your children’s academic achievements and increased confidence is why we do what we do.

Mathnasium of Allen is owned and operated by the Lossing family. Mathnasium of Allen was founded in 2019 to serve students in the Allen and Lucas, Texas areas.
The Lossings joined the Mathnasium franchise in 2013 with the establishment of their flagship location, Mathnasium of 4S Ranch (currently a Top 10 learning center location within the Mathnasium franchise). Prior to becoming a franchise owner with Mathnasium, Karen Lossing was a special education teacher and math curriculum writer for the state of Texas. Karen was drawn to the Mathnasium franchise because of its teaching methodology and exclusive focus on math.
Mathnasium became a family business in 2017 when Libby joined forces with her mom after graduating from UCLA. The two were later joined by Evan upon graduating from Texas Tech University's Business College and Steven when he retired as the Chief Stores Officer of Petco. Now the family of four works alongside their learning center management and instruction teams to provide the best education experience possible to hundreds of students every school year.
The Lossings pride themselves on running exceptional learning centers with exceptional staff. The team has received numerous third-party awards for being a Top Workplace and Best Tutoring Service in their local communities.
