Tutors follow each plan closely, reinforcing understanding and introducing new material gradually. As students build skills and fill knowledge gaps, their confidence grows alongside their readiness, so they arrive at their exam prepared to do their best.

Miles Dougherty
Lead Instructor
My name is Miles and I am one of the Lead Instructors at Mathnasium of Annapolis. I started working here about a year ago because I wanted to work somewhere that I could do lots of math. In my free time, I like playing the piano or guitar. On clear nights, I like going out and seeing what constellations I can find. I am currently in college getting my bachelors in astronomy and I will hopefully get my masters after that.
Robbie Wagner
Lead Instructor
I started at Mathnasium as a student in December of 2017 and began excelling shortly after. In July of 2022 I became an instructor and have enjoyed every moment ofsince. I enjoy teaching math and seeing faces bright up as students grow more confident. When I am not at school or instructing, you can find me volunteering as a firefighter/emt at Woodland Beach Volunteer fire department. I also study and report severe weather as a National weather service field spotter.

Finding out what your calling is in your life is an interesting journey. At first I thought it was gaming and I spent countless hours reaching the top 1% of players in North America in League of Legends. Then I got m first job delivering packages for Amazon, and I realized I really enjoy providing a service and brightening someones day. I went back to my hobby and started coaching people on the game. I'll never forget some of my students. It has been a pleasant transfer to teaching math. Teaching has always been an intriguing challenge which has kept my attention far more than learning for myself. I am excited for the next day!

At Mathnasium of Annapolis, we believe the best exam preparation is building deep math understanding and mastery over time.
Students begin their enrollment process with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills and knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math skills consistently, session by session, so students aren't starting from scratch before every test.
Our specially trained tutors work with students across any K–12 math class, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing the concepts they're learning in school, filling in foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills that serve them on quizzes, midterms, and final exams alike.
When a major exam is approaching, we can align instruction with the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.
Yes! Mathnasium of Annapolis prepares students for the math portions of the MCAP.
Our tutors align instruction with the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards (MCCRS) for Mathematics to ensure students have a solid grasp of the grade-level concepts they'll encounter on the exam. We identify each student's knowledge gaps through a diagnostic assessment and build a personalized learning plan that targets the skills they need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
The earlier, the better. Because the MCAP measures cumulative math understanding built over the school year, students benefit most from consistent, ongoing support rather than last-minute preparation.
Ideally, students should begin working with us at the start of the school year or semester. This gives us time to identify and address any knowledge gaps, build foundational skills, and ensure students are progressing steadily toward grade-level mastery well before test day.
That said, if your student is closer to the exam, we can still make a meaningful difference. Contact us and we'll create a focused plan based on the time available.
Yes! Mathnasium of Annapolis prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day. Whether your student is taking the exam for the first time or looking to improve their score, we tailor preparation to their current skill level and target goals.
We recommend starting at least three to six months before the exam date, and earlier is always better.
College admissions math tests cover a wide range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. Students who begin preparation early have time to identify and close knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained practice.
For students with significant gaps in foundational math skills, starting even earlier — in middle school or early high school — gives them the strongest possible foundation heading into test prep.
If your student's test date is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll build a focused plan around the time they have.
Mathnasium of Annapolis offers math test prep as part of a flat monthly membership fee. Pricing depends on your student's individual plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our center directly — we're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
The number of sessions depends on your student's current skill level, the exam they're preparing for, and how much time is available before test day.
As a general guide, most students preparing for a major exam such as the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT® attend two sessions per week over three to six months. For state assessments or classroom exams, the timeline may be shorter, depending on the student's starting point and goals.
After the diagnostic assessment, we'll have a clear picture of what your student needs and can recommend a session schedule that gives them the best chance of success.
Yes! Students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our specially trained tutors in Annapolis and follow the same personalized learning plan as they would in the center.
No, both formats provide the same personalized learning plan, face-to-face instruction, and caring guidance from our tutors. Many families choose a combination of in-center and online sessions for added flexibility around busy schedules and exam timelines.
Yes. Our tutors understand the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards (MCCRS) for Mathematics and the expectations of local schools in Annapolis and surrounding communities.
