Gio Nicpon

Assistant Center Director
Gio majored in middle Education major at Northeastern Illinois University. He is currently working toward Master in Secondary Education also at Northeastern. He is involved in the following cohorts for the education major: College of Arts and Sciences Education Program (CASEP). He loves Math, Science, and Technology for Quality Education (MSTQE). Gio is actually short for Giometry with an "i" (haha!) Fun fact about Gio is that he has played guitar for 16 years! His favorite number is 0, because of his favorite childhood superhero Zero from Mega-Man.

Eli Favela

Instructor
Eli graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha with a Bachelor's degree and majoring in Mathematics and Physics. In addition to his majors, during college he took many classes in computer science and Japanese and participated in clubs ranging from Pokemon to Ultimate Frisbee. His other interests include origami, Japanese animation, and scuba-diving. A very cool project he worked on was with fellow undergraduates and NASA to develop experiments which he personally tested in zero-gravity on the Weightless Wonder airplane. Overall he spent about an hour floating in zero-g. Previous experience with tutoring physics at college has taught him that everyone learns the same concept differently, which has personally helped him gain the ability to quickly articulate multiple methods of explaining a problem.

Andrew Nowak

Instructor
Hello, I'm Andrew Nowak and soon-to-be graduate of John Hersey High School. Some things I enjoy include going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, and learning about math. I will work on getting a degree in Actuarial Science where I hope to become an actuary. I've grown to enjoy teaching others about the subject I'm so passionate about and will continue to do so.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
