Daniel Best

Owner & Deputy Director
Hello! I’m Daniel, an experienced data scientist and a proud dad of two young boys, which fuels my passion for education and STEM. With a solid background in managing data science projects and developing predictive models at Deloitte, GM Financial, Ford and RAPP, I’ve gained a deep understanding of mathematics and problem-solving. My academic achievements, including a Master’s degree in Finance Analytics from the University of Michigan and several advanced certifications, further underscore my expertise. My dedication to education, particularly in STEM fields, is driven by my desire to see my children—and all students—thrive. I’ve led initiatives to enhance learning and foster curiosity in young minds through my extracurricular and volunteer work. Whether your child needs support with foundational math skills or more advanced concepts, I’m here to offer personalized, patient, and enthusiastic guidance to help them build confidence and succeed academically.

Ambica

Instructor

Hi! I’m Ambica Chaki, a current undergraduate student at the New York Institute of Technology, studying computer science. As an engineering student, math is a part of my everyday life, and I’ve always loved working with numbers and variables. I consider myself friendly and outgoing, and I genuinely enjoy helping others.

My passion for math, along with my desire to assist students, led me to become an instructor at Mathnasium. I want to help students understand the importance of math and how it applies to various aspects of their lives. With three years of teaching experience, I’ve worked with students in grades K to 8 across different schools in NYC. At Mathnasium, I’m always open to collaborating with my peers, students, and managers to help everyone succeed in their math classes!

Seong Yoon

Instructor

Hi! I’m Seong Yoon, and I’m currently studying Finance and Management at New York University. I graduated from Stuyvesant High School and scored 790 on the math portion of the SAT.

I have a strong passion for teaching and working with children. During high school, I spent a summer teaching kids from kindergarten to 2nd grade, and I’ve also tutored my two younger brothers. I love working at Mathnasium because it allows me to inspire and support students in their math journeys. I believe there’s a significant education disparity in NYC, and I’m dedicated to making a positive impact in my community. It’s a rewarding experience to help bridge that gap and empower students to succeed!

Hi! I’m Paul, and I have a strong passion for mathematics. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Mathematics/Economics and was part of the Math Honors Society in high school. I scored 790 on the math portion of the SAT, which fueled my desire to help others succeed in this subject.

During high school, I had the opportunity to work as a tutor at Mathnasium, where I supported students in all levels of math. I continued my tutoring journey in college, focusing on helping students with Business Calculus and Calculus I. I’m excited to inspire and support students in their mathematical journeys!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
