Alyssa brings over a decade of experience in education, leadership, and student engagement to her role as Center Director at Mathnasium of Atascocita. She’s passionate about helping students thrive through personalized learning and building strong meaningful partnerships with parents. She believes every student can succeed in math with the right support, guidance, and confidence building environment.
Before joining Atascocita, Alyssa served for five years as Assistant Center Director at Mathnasium of Humble South and spent five years as a Lead Assistant at Kumon. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston - Downtown and a Paralegal Certification from the Center for Advanced Legal Studies.
Alyssa is dedicated to building student confidence and making math a positive and rewarding experience for every learner. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and is a proud mom of two boys, ages 8 and 18 months.
Alina is a student at the University of Houston majoring in Biology. She loves exploring how math connects to science and everyday life. Alina enjoys reading, doing henna tattoos, and discovering creative ways to engage with learning.
Her favorite number is 12, the month she was born. At Mathnasium, Alina enjoys helping students strengthen their math skills while building her own. She finds joy in watching students grow in confidence and start to see math as fun and rewarding.
Talika holds a Master of Science in Psychology and has always had a passion for math because of its clarity and logic — there is always a right answer to discover. She enjoys helping students build confidence in their abilities and develop a deeper understanding of math in a supportive learning environment.
At Mathnasium, Talika loves sharing her enthusiasm for math with students and making learning both engaging and rewarding. Her favorite area of math is algebra, and her favorite number is 7. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and traveling.
Pristina is pursuing a degree in Applied Sciences and enjoys helping students strengthen their understanding of math through patience and encouragement. She values creating a supportive environment where learning feels comfortable and fun.
Her favorite number is 27, the day she was born, and she loves finding personal meaning in numbers. Outside of Mathnasium, Pristina enjoys spending time with friends and exploring new activities. She finds joy in seeing students’ progress and believes that confidence in math builds confidence in life.
Jeremy Bocanegra is 25 years old and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. He has completed coursework through Calculus II and enjoys helping students build confidence in math by making challenging concepts feel more approachable and understandable.
Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys playing video games and creating art in various forms of media. One of the most interesting things he has ever eaten is an ant egg taco while visiting Mexico. He enjoys working with students because he understands how frustrating math can feel when concepts don’t click right away, and he finds it rewarding to support their growth and long-term success. A fun fact about Jeremy is that he plays the alto saxophone, and his favorite number is 21 because it matches his birthday.
Omar attended Atascocita High School and is currently studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston. His strongest math background includes AP Statistics, and he enjoys helping others better understand math concepts and build confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
Outside of school and work, Omar enjoys music and plays the Bb trumpet in band, as well as the ukulele. He likes staying involved in different musical activities. One of the most interesting foods he has tried is calamari, and his favorite number is 17 because it is connected to his birthday. Omar enjoys working at Mathnasium because he likes teaching math and helping students grow more confident in their abilities.
Adam Bauer is a student at the University of Texas at Austin studying Computational Engineering. His math background includes AP Calculus BC, and he enjoys both learning and teaching math concepts.
Outside of school and work, Adam enjoys musical theater, story writing, and going to the gym. His favorite number is 60 because it has many factors and is simply a number he likes. Adam enjoys working at Mathnasium because he likes math, enjoys teaching others, and values the opportunity to work with kids and help them grow their confidence in the subject.
