Matt graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2017 with a B.A. in Economics. He began his journey with Mathnasium in Norman, Oklahoma, as an instructor in 2018 and served as Assistant Director before moving to Athens in 2023 to lead the center as Director.
Matt is passionate about helping students of all backgrounds truly understand math in a way that makes sense to them. He creates a positive, fun learning environment alongside his team. Outside of Mathnasium, Matt enjoys chess, classical music, composing, and cheering on his OU Sooners and Georgia Bulldogs.
Julia is a Mathematics Education major at the University of Georgia with plans to teach high school math. At Mathnasium, she enjoys seeing how each student approaches math differently and loves helping them find confidence and joy in learning.
She volunteers with MathCounts and SWAB and was in her high school marching band. Julia believes math is universal and finds satisfaction in its logic and consistency. Her birthday is on Pi Day, her favorite number is 12, and her favorite math joke is: “Four-thirds of people don’t understand fractions.”
Lilli is a Mathematics Education major at the University of Georgia and hopes to teach Algebra or Calculus at the high school level. She is involved with the Mathematics Education Student Association and enjoys making math accessible and creative for all learners.
At Mathnasium, Lilli loves seeing students succeed through personalized instruction. She believes in the value of multiple problem-solving methods. Her favorite number is 9, and her favorite math joke is: “What do you call friends who love math? Alge-bros!” In her free time, she enjoys dancing and spending time with friends.
Aditi is a pre-med student at the University of Georgia with aspirations to enter the medical field. She enjoys tutoring because it gives her the chance to help students gain confidence in math while building a positive and encouraging environment.
She is involved with MEDLIFE, UNICEF, and the American Women’s Medical Association at UGA. Aditi has lived in five different states and loves reading and traveling with her family. Her favorite number is 6, and her go-to math joke is: “Not all math jokes are bad, just sum.”
Lucy is a Mathematics major at the University of Georgia and hopes to use her math background to make a positive impact in fields like education, healthcare, or policy.
She enjoys helping students grow more confident in math at Mathnasium and appreciates the challenge math provides. Lucy is also involved in the UGA Dance Company and enjoys knitting, cooking, and dance. Her favorite number is 3, and her favorite math joke is: “Parallel lines have so much in common. It's a shame they'll never meet!”
Heather is studying Biology at the University of Georgia, on the pre-PA track, and she also tutors through Oasis Catolico Santa Rafaela. In her free time she loves to learn, dance, read, play with her cats, be outside, do lots of kinds of crafts and art, and spend time with family and friends. She loves Mathnasium because "I love building connections with the kids and seeing their progress each time they come. I love seeing the kids excited when they start to build confidence!"
