Marcela Ortiz

Marcela is the Administrative and Marketing person at Mathnasium of Aventura, Florida. Marcela has a degree in Business Administration. Prior to opening the Mathnasium of Aventura, Marcela worked as Brand Manager of different brands in the wine industry in Chile and Argentina. She was in charge of the entire developmental process of these brands, from their creation until their introduction to different markets around the world. Marcela recently moved to Miami from Chile with Daniel (her husband) to start their own dream, to have their own company, and in Mathnasium they found the perfect combination of their passions: help the community's children and education. Marcela believes that a good education is the basis for life´s opportunities allowing students to achieve their maximum potential, and since Mathnasium provides a unique and fun way of learning Math, Marcela is certain that this is a perfect match, and she is willing to leave her previous accomplishments behind to devote her entire future on this goal.

Pamela Ibanez

Assistant Director
Pamela is the Assistant Director of Mathnasium of Aventura. She loves Math but her more strange is the Administrative part. Pamela is a big part of Mathnasium by taking care of the new/current parents and is always trying to understand the kids. Doing the training of the instructors. Her goal is to become a Psychologist.

Catherine Rodriguez

Catherine is a Junior in college, pursuing a degree in Mathematics. Before college, she was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the math honor society, where she and others tutored students and helped coordinate certain events. She was also a school athlete that participated in both volleyball and badminton, winning volleyball district champions three years in a row as well as reaching Badminton GMAC finals for two consecutive years. Catherine is currently focused on school, but also makes time for Mathnasium, friends, and family. She has learned a lot working at Mathnasium and loves being able to help kids understand math.

Alexis Crowder


Schadrack Cineas

Schadrack is a Sophomore attending Florida International University and is pursuing Computer Science to become a Software Engineer. He previously attended MAST@FIU and scored 740/800 on the math portion of his SAT. He was a member of UNICEF, Men of MAST, Debate Cub, and served as SGA Senior President. He enjoys sharing the knowledge he has learned over the years to help students succeed in their math courses.

Amit is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. He is currently a substitute teacher about to become a high school math teacher.

Kiarra Ali Baldonado

Kiarra Ali is a senior at MAST@FIU and a dual-enrolled student at FIU. She loves all things STEM and the arts since growing up with a talented family. She is a member of the Forensic Science Club and will soon join Surfrider/SEACORP, and Rho Kappa. Working as a youth tutor at a church, Kiarra has grown a passion for teaching kids math and interacting with them.

Diego Machuca

Diego Machuca is currently a sophomore at MAST@FIU. He started as a student at Mathnasium, then became a volunteer, and finally an instructor. His love for stem and rollerblading shows his persistence and ability to face new challenges. His sociability and love for math made him perfect to be an instructor. His job not only taught him math but also patience.

Cesar Gonzalez

Cesar is a 12th-grade student attending MAST@FIU as a full-time Dual Enrollment Student. He is an aspiring Computer Science Major on his way to graduating high school with an AA in Florida International University. He is a member of the National Honors Society and Chess Club in his school. He is also very passionate in tutoring and mathematics as a whole.

Michael Lovaglio

Michael Lovaglio is a senior at MAST@FIU and a full-time dual enrollment student at FIU. At school, he is the captain of the Debate Team and Model UN Team, and is involved in Marine Biology research with renowned professors. He plans to major in Molecular Biology and pursue a career as a surgeon. Mathnasium helped Michael overcome his fear of solving difficult Math problems, and pushed him to perform well in advanced Math courses and on the SAT.
