Daryl grew up in Rogers, graduating from Westside, Oakdale, and Rogers High School. He studied at Hendrix earning a double major in Chemistry and Religious Studies. Daryl then completed nearly 4 years of service in the US Peace Corps living in a rural village of ~250 people in Niger, West Africa. Upon his return he completed a B.A. and M.A. at St. John's College in Santa Fe, NM. Along the way Daryl developed a love and appreciation for mathematical thought from the ancients to the moderns and would very much like to share that affinity with the learning community at Mathnasium.

I am a native of Northwest Arkansas graduating from Bentonville High School in 2009. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2012 with my bachelors of mathematics and a minor in education. After teaching a few years in the public school system, I saw that students are struggling with math more than I ever expected. I saw that most students need help and guidance on the art of learning. Mathnasium helps expand my knowledge by showing me a variety of teaching methods and techniques, so that I can help a more diverse group of learners.
Johnie grew up in San Diego, CA. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, he attained an MBA. Together they helped him with several jobs/careers. Oddly enough, he often used math to figure out problems within those careers. Outside of his business life, Johnie spent almost 20 years coaching gymnastics. No specific math there, but he certainly enjoyed helping his students learn to set goals and work to achieve them. Why Mathnasium you might ask? Well, Math, especially Calculus, was always a favorite subject since it just made sense--no subjective answers, always just right or wrong; plus, it was based on logic and reason. Now that he is retired, he plans to help students understand math better, because it is a subject that will always help you no matter what you choose to do in life.
Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

Are you interested in changing lives through math? We're looking for outstanding individuals with a high level of commitment who are passionate about teaching math. Find out if there's a Mathnasium position that's just right for you!
