Ms. Hope

Lead Instructor
Hope graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College in May 2023 and has worked with kids for over a decade Hope enjoys reading philosophy and researching overlooked women in math and science. She also enjoys history, nature and physics documentaries. While living in Colorado, Hope led fundraising campaigns for nonprofits such as Doctors Without Borders and the Nature Conservancy. Hope's favorite number is 196,884

Mr. Micah

Lead Instructor
Micah graduated from Duluth High school as Duluth’s first ever Student Body President of color. Currently, Micah is a gap year student pursuing a full time career in film & television as an actor. Micah enjoys modeling in runway shows, making music, singing, and going to the movies with friends. Micah's favorite number is 3 because everything good comes in 3’s! A fun fact about Micah is he had his first ever student when he was 5 years old: his younger sister. He taught her how to read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide!

Ms. Sarah

Mentor Instructor
Sarah is a second year at Georgia Tech after graduating from Paul Duke STEM in 2022. She is studying biomedical engineering and law. Sarah likes to work with her hands. She enjoys crocheting, sketching, sewing and even making jewelry. Sarah’s favorite number is 9 because she was born on October 9. Sarah loves to travel and has been to as many countries as her age.

Ms. Alice

Alice is a senior at Berkmar High School. Originally from Mexico, but has lived in Georgia since 2018! Alice is the president of BETA, Nature Society, and NHS. Alice enjoys constantly volunteering at a senior residential home and in Adopt-a-Road events. Alice enjoys reading Japanese manga. In addition to self-studying subjects such as Calculus or Chemistry as they approach Alice's career goals. Alice's favorite number is 25 which is so cool because it's made by multiplying 5 x 5, which is such an easy multiplication to memorize and so symmetrical as well! 25 is a perfect square and divisible by 5, making 25 so easy to work with. Alice aims to become either a Chemical Engineer or an Aerospace Engineer, or maybe even both! In the near future, Alice hopes to work in the space industry at NASA. Alice also wishes to continue helping children gain confidence in their math skills!

Mr. Alex

Alex is a senior at Chamblee High School. He is an active member of the Academic Quiz Team and is Vice-President of SHPE. Alex loves listening to music while cruising in his car, playing soccer, and watching the weather outside. His favorite number is 32. "I can't explain it, but it's a number that always makes me think of home." Alex dreams of becoming a civil engineer and designing our future communities.

Ms. Karen

Karen is a student at Berkmar High School. She holds multiple leadership positions and is involved in many school clubs. She hopes to inspire students to find a passion and thrive in mathematics! Karen loves to broaden her horizons in food, by trying different cultural foods. She also enjoys playing games with her family and friends. Her favorite number is 5. The number that brings good luck. Karen has a passion in healthcare and one day wants to become a NICU nurse!

Mr. Jonas

Jonas is a student at University of Georiga. He loves math over all other subjects because it is being used everywhere! Jonas loves solving tricky riddles and listening to music.Jonas wants to help other students love math just as much as he does. His favorite number is 2, because it is the only "even" prime number of all other numbers.

Ms. Safaa

Safaa is a student at Berkmar High School and was born in Georgia. She is in National BETA and loves doing work for her community. She wants to start a love for math within the kids that she teaches. Safaa also loves improving the environment because she believes every small action can make a big difference. She enjoys reading and watching mysteries, as well as comedies. She loves learning new things and finding out how things work! Her favorite number is 3 because 3 is just a perfect number. Safaa wants to pursue a career in biomedical engineering and go to medical school. The human body is one of the most intricate machines on the planet and it's amazing how it works!

Ms. Angie

Angie is a student at Berkmar High School. Her hobbies include cooking and outdoor activities such as playing soccer, running, hiking, or climbing. Angie enjoys listening to music and watching sunsets. Her favorite number is 11 because it’s pretty.
