Evan

Instructor

Evan graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Evan joined Mathnasium because it connects instructors with students and creates tailored learning plans that set them up for success. Evan has been teaching and tutoring since 2010 and enjoys helping students understand the why behind math, as this approach builds confidence and mastery.

Fun fact: at least one of Evan’s former students has returned to work as a Mathnasium instructor!

Favorite math joke/motto: “2 + 2 = 5 for extremely high values of 2.”

Anthony

Instructor

Anthony graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. Anthony is passionate about math and enjoys working with children, especially seeing them grow intellectually. He finds joy in the clarity of math, where "numbers are numbers" with no grey area. His favorite topics to teach include Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry. Growing up in Detroit, Anthony developed a love for working with his hands, which he continues to enjoy by fixing things in his free time.

Holly

Instructor

Holly is a graduate student from Cornell University's Graduate School of Medical Sciences, holding an M.S. degree.  Holly brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for mathematics to our Mathnasium team. Her favorite subject to teach is algebra, and she loves being able to perform quick calculations in her head. When she's not teaching, Holly enjoys playing pickleball and finding balance in life.

A fun fact about Holly is that she's scared of speed, heights, and worms, but she approaches every challenge with her favorite math-related motto: "Life is a math equation. In order to gain the most, you have to know how to convert negatives into positives."

Deon

Instructor

Deon is a proud MBA graduate from Western Michigan University, bringing many years of tutoring and teaching experience to Mathnasium. Inspired by his passion for helping students excel in math, Deon is dedicated to seeing his students improve and reach their full potential. His favorite subject to teach is algebra, and he especially loves the moment when students have that "lightbulb" realization and truly grasp a concept. Outside of Mathnasium, Deon enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and watching sports.

A fun fact about Deon is that he’s an excellent blackjack player.

Deon lives by the math-related motto: "Mistakes allow thinking to happen."

Khadeeja

Instructor

Khadeeja is a dedicated instructor at Mathnasium and a student at Wayne State University with five years of tutoring experience. She was inspired to join Mathnasium because of its unique teaching methods that allow her to share her love for math and help students build confidence in their abilities. Her favorite subject to teach is geometry, as it combines logical reasoning with visual problem-solving and brings math to life through shapes, patterns, and real-world applications. In her free time, Khadeeja enjoys working on her first SAE car, showcasing her passion for hands-on projects and engineering. Her favorite math-related quote is by Stefan Banach: "Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit."

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
