Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Amy

Instructor

Math has always been apart of Amy's life. She enjoys solving problems and getting to learn about the math behind everything. She chose Mathnasium because it allows her to share her passion with other children; letting them know that math is not hard and that she will always be here to make math feel easier for them.

Pranika

Instructor

Pranika is a dedicated peer tutor at her school, supporting 9–12th grade students in math and writing each day. Beyond the classroom, she is deeply involved in leadership and community service. She serves as Co-President of the Shreya Dixit Memorial Foundation eyeDA, where she advocates for AI-based solutions to prevent distracted driving, speaking at statewide safety summits, and collaborating with national leaders.

She is also the Founder & CEO of Light 4 Kidz, a global nonprofit supporting hospitalized children, with 150+ members across 23 countries and over 1,200 children served. Additionally, she serves as a Student Commissioner for the Edina Human Rights & Relations Commission, represent youth voices in local policy, and leads multiple student organizations including Science Olympiad, HOSA, and DECA.

Through tutoring and leadership, Pranika is passionate about using STEM, service, and mentorship to make a meaningful impact in the community and beyond.

Jamal

Instructor

Jamal Abukar brings a lifelong passion for numbers and problem-solving to the Mathnasium team.

Jamal's professional journey has always revolved around math. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Management and an MBA from St. Mary's University , he has spent his career as a successful accountant. As the founder of his own firm, A+ Accounting , he uses math every day to help businesses make smart decisions, manage budgets, and plan for the future. Jamal also has a State of Minnesota Educator License.

His favorite number is 8, because it looks so cool. Jamal believes that understanding math is a critical skill that builds confidence and opens up a world of possibilities. His goal at Mathnasium is to show students that math isn't just about homework; it's a tool they can use to build, create, and succeed in anything they choose to do. He looks forward to helping students have those "aha!" moments and grow into confident, capable problem-solvers.

Our Mathnasium Mission
