Anitha Kamath
Center Director
Anitha holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics and has experience teaching high school math. She enjoys solving puzzles and exploring different problem-solving strategies. She believes that building a strong mathematical foundation early in life is essential for long-term success and loves sharing her knowledge with students.
At Mathnasium, Anitha values collaboration with parents and works to ensure open communication about student progress. She is passionate about the Mathnasium Method and believes it is the most effective approach for mastering the fundamentals of mathematics.
Ira
Owner & Managing Director
Ira is the Owner and Managing Director of Mathnasium of Bothell, Mill Creek, and Maple Valley. She previously worked at Microsoft as a Software Engineer and Program Manager. With a Master’s in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s in Statistics, Ira also pursued actuarial studies.
Her journey with Mathnasium began as a parent, when her son became a student. This experience inspired her to join Mathnasium’s mission of “Changing Lives Through Math,” a commitment she carries into every aspect of her work.
Matthew
Assistant Center Director
Matthew earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Nuclear Engineering and Mathematics from The Ohio State University. His love of learning led him to pursue a Master’s in Teaching at Seattle University. He views math as the language of the natural world, full of purpose and possibility.
Outside of Mathnasium, Matthew is a competitive fencer who became the 2021 Division 1 Men’s Épée National Champion. He also plays trumpet and solves any size Rubik’s cube without having learned formal methods—a testament to his passion for problem-solving.
Caroline
Assistant Center Director
Caroline is currently attending Cascadia College and is passionate about forming meaningful connections through everyday kindness. Her interest in math and helping others led her to Mathnasium, where she found the Mathnasium Method to be both inspiring and effective.
She loves watching students strengthen their skills and reach new levels of understanding. Caroline is excited to continue supporting students on their math journey and helping them unlock their full potential.
Chase
Assistant Center Director
Chase earned his Associate of Arts degree from Pierce College at the age of 17, graduating from college before finishing high school. He is now a junior at the University of Washington Bothell, working toward a degree in Physics.
Chase’s favorite subjects are math, physics, and history. He loves teaching and aspires to become a physics professor. He believes that with curiosity and ambition, anyone can learn anything, and he brings that philosophy to his work with students at Mathnasium.
Shashi
Senior Instructor
Shashi has a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Delaware. He graduated with a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) Delhi, India. He was a professor of civil engineering at Texas A&M University for four years and at I.I.T. Delhi for 35 years until he retired. He relocated to the US post retirement. He has worked extensively in the area of water resources engineering with key focus on groundwater contamination and bioremediation technologies. He strongly believes that math develops problem solving skills and sharpens critical and analytical skills in young minds. In his free time, he enjoys painting with acrylic colors.
James
Senior Instructor
James has a bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics from the University of California, San Diego. His favorite subjects are linear algebra, probability, logic, and relativity. He enjoys the act of explaining math to others and helping them understand mathematical concepts. In his free time, James likes to play the drums.

We offer premium value math-only tutoring through a flat monthly membership. Most students attend 2–3 times per week. After an initial assessment, we’ll design a personalized learning plan with a recommended session frequency to support your child’s academic goals.
