Riley E.

Assistant Center Director

I've completed and received a 5 on my AP Calculus BC test and am currently taking AP Statistics. I have been in band for about 6 years now and have been in my high school's marching band for 4. I have had the opportunity to travel the state and the nation through band and have been able to improve myself a lot. I have grown physically, mentally, and emotionally as a result of marching band, and grown more confident in leadership roles. For the last two years, I have been the Head Drum Major, the highest position a student can hold. Academically speaking, I will have taken my 8th AP class and my 9th CE course at my high school once this school year finishes. I am set to graduate with my Associates Degree. I have received either 4's or 5's on my AP tests, and received a 36 on my ACT. I have participated in the HOSA medical club, and the Interact service club. This coming year I intend to participate in HOSA, Interact, KEY, and NHS clubs at my high school. I love listening to and writing music. I'm an amateur composer, and am working on writing symphonic pieces, although those are moving slowly. I've started by writing arrangements for performances in my church meetings.

Fun Fact: I have two younger sisters

Favorite Number, Why?: My favorite number is the number 2, because its evenly odd, as the only oddly even prime number, and is very nice to do mathematics with.

My ambitions are to go to the University of Utah for my undergraduate degree in either psychology or neuroscience and then go to an Ivy League University for medical school, eventually completing residency to become a clinical psychiatrist.

Why I Like Mathnasium: I like tutoring, and helping kids work through math, especially where a lot of kids doubt their mathematic abilities. Being able to show them that they can do more than they expect is always a rewarding experience.
