Alana

Center Assistant Director

Alana is Center Assistant Director of Mathnasium of Brighton. She has over 15 years of experience in K-12 and higher education administration, two bachelor's degrees in international business management and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. 

Throughout her career, Alana has focused on creating learning environments where both students and teachers feel confident, supported, and motivated to grow. She is committed to helping students develop the skills and mindsets they need to thrive in math, school, and beyond.  

Cecilia

Lead Instructor

Cecilia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from UCLA. With over a decade of experience tutoring students of all ages, she brings a deep understanding of how to make math accessible and engaging for every learner. 

Cecilia believes effective teaching begins by meeting students where they are and helping them build confidence step by step. Her goal is to help each student not only master math but also enjoy it. Outside of teaching, she enjoys knitting as a creative and relaxing pastime. 

Sarah

Instructor

Sarah has taken advanced coursework through college-level calculus and earned full math scores on both the SAT and the ACT! She has supported students in a wide range of topics from foundational math skills to pre-calculus and enjoys helping them improve their problem-solving skills and build confidence in math. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar and volleyball.

Nicholas

Instructor

Nicholas (aka Nick) received his Bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in the spring of 2026, with intentions to pursue his PhD in the fall of 2027. For years, Nick has been tutoring students of all ages with the firm belief that absolutely anyone can succeed in math. He likes to meet the students at their own level, and from there use logic and reasoning to ensure that his students have sound fundamentals to stand on. Outside of mathematics, Nick enjoys reading, writing, going on runs, and playing basketball.

Aram

Instructor

Aram currently attends University, where he is studying mechanical engineering. He has extensive experience tutoring mathematics through the Wayne State University Math Corps program.

In his free time, Aram enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his loved ones.
