'TriMathlon' Students Raise Cash for Campbell Schools

A dozen fourth and fifth graders participated in a “TriMathlon” math contest Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Mathnasium, a math tutoring and learning center in Campbell.

The TriMathlon contest is designed to show kids in grades 2 through 5 that math can be fun. Children at all levels of math ability are invited to participate. In addition to winning trophies, all students who participate earn money for local schools with every correct answer they give in the competition.

Participants in Sunday’s event raised more than $300 for Campbell area schools.

Fourth grade participants included:

  • Jared Otake (Second place winner)
  • Aakash Sriram (Third place winner)
  • Seth Schurman
  • Belladonna Tucker
  • Lara Prakash
  • Prakriti Prague
  • Maya Josifovska

Fifth grade participants included:

  • Piyush Kumbhare (1st place)
  • Julia Dovas (2nd place)
  • Sahil Patel (3rd place)
  • Abigail Tucker

Campbell’s Mathnasium, located at 2511 S. Winchester Blvd., is one of 180 Mathnasium centers throughout the United States. East hosted a TriMathlon event on Sunday attracting more than 3,000 competitors nationwide.
