MATHNASIUM INFINITY & BEYOND: 6+ YEARS / ABSOLUTE MAX, Former Instructor of the Month

I became an aunt at nine years old, so I have been working with and mentoring children for a long time and have loved every minute of it. While I wait for Jim Butcher to finish The Dresden Files, I have just started reading Kevin Hearne's The Iron Druid Chronicles and am very excited and optimistic. The highlight of my week is watching Sven Goolie on Saturday night with my husband. My highest math level includes Non-Euclidean Geometry, Introduction to Algebraic Structures, Differential Equations. When I first started at Mathnasium, I learned so many alternative methods to solve math problems that just made sense, and I was constantly asking, "Why isn't math taught this way everywhere?!" Getting to share repeated "lightbulb moments" with kids over this approach unique to Mathnasium has kept me coming back, and now I couldn't imagine working anywhere else.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NUMBER?  4. Days spent with my husband and our two boys--or, as we call them, Four Family Days--are the best!

WHICH MATH WORD BEST DESCRIBES YOU? Function. No matter the input, I am always pushing it to the next level. I am very methodical and organized.

Assistant Center Director

MATHNASIUM INFINITY & BEYOND: 2+ YEARS / ABSOLUTE MAX Former Instructor of the Month

Since working at Mathnasium, I've enjoyed collaborating with the staff, connecting with students, and sharing my passion for math by helping others.  My outgoing personality and previous experiences as a coach and camp counselor makes it easy for me to work with all ages and grade levels and adapt to daily needs.  I grew up in sports and marching band, so teamwork comes naturally to me.  I love spending time with family and friends doing anything from puzzles to big adventures.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NUMBER? 20.  It's the jersey number me and my sister shared when we were younger.

WHICH MATH WORD BEST DESCRIBES YOU?  Parallel.  I work well alongside others.

MATHNASIUM INFINITY & BEYOND: 5+ YEARS / ABSOLUTE MAX Former TWO-TIME Instructor of the Month

I'm a college student studying Computer Science.  I've lived in Carmel most of my life.  Being the oldest of 4 siblings, I've always enjoyed  working with kids.  Coding, mathematics, and physics have been life-long interests which I often enjoy independently learning.  Being able to share those interests with others through teaching is amazing!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NUMBER  Tau.  It's twice as good as Pi and simplifies the unit circle, polar form, and some circle & trig equations.

WHICH MATH WORD BEST DESCRIBES YOU? Absolute Value.  I'm always positive.

Jake Lee

THE ABSOLUTE MAX!

Mathnasium of Carmel's Employee of the Month is Jake Lee!

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT MATHNASIUM?  I most enjoy having conversations with the students here.  I love taking on the challenge to apply myself to teach kids at all levels.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NUMBER?  0.  It often simplifies difficult problems.

WHICH MATH WORD BEST DESCRIBES YOU?  Parameterize!  I love this word, because it is both challenging and fun to say.
