Mandy Jagarnauth

Center Director

Mandy is a lifelong resident of McHenry County with a passion for community impact and education. With a strong background in nonprofit work, she has dedicated herself to roles like Recreation Specialist, Job Developer, and in management, where she focused on creating inclusive programs that empower individuals of all abilities. Mandy holds an Early Childhood Development Certificate from McHenry County College and has studied Psychology at Arizona State University, equipping her with a well-rounded approach to supporting students and families. She believes in the power of learning and that math can truly be a fun and empowering journey! Outside of work, Mandy enjoys family time with her husband and twin boys, often spending their evenings together on walks and over shared meals.

Emily

Assistant Center Director
Emily has a passion for both educating and caring for children. She holds an Associate’s in Arts from McHenry County College and is pursing a degree in engineering. Throughout her time at Mathnasium, Emily has loved making math fun for her students. She is dedicated to building great relationships with each student and empowering them through fun, personalized math education. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time outside with her dog, painting and listening to music.

Avery

Instructor

Avery graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Spanish. She has always enjoyed working with children and helping students gain the skills and confidence to succeed academically. Avery has nearly a decade’s experience tutoring students and sharing her love of mathematics and problem-solving. Avery and her husband recently moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Crystal Lake to be closer to family. In her free time she enjoys cooking, birdwatching, and going on hikes with her dog.

Pranaav

Instructor
Pranaav's journey is one marked by a genuine passion for education and a dedication to helping others. As a junior at Prairie Ridge High School, Pranaav exhibits an insatiable curiosity and an innate knack for problem-solving. If you ever find Pranaav outside of work and school, he’d probably be on a tennis court or sitting at a chessboard. Pranaav realized his passion for teaching math when he tutored his classmates in AP Calculus BC. Seeking ways to spread knowledge and appreciation of mathematics, Pranaav has tutored in various settings and is excited to bring that expertise to Mathnasium.

Raji

Instructor
Raji, prior to joining Mathnasium, was a full-time mom raising and working closely with her daughter while also self-teaching concepts of Data Science. She lives in Cary with her husband and daughter who is now off to elementary school. She has a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Business Administration in Systems and Finance and comes with a strong background in Mathematics. Raji is excited to pursue her childhood dream and passion of teaching, especially Mathematics which is one of her favorite subjects to learn and teach as well. Her favorite hobbies include painting, traveling, trying different cuisines and food, and playing fantasy football.

Josh

Instructor
Josh is currently a sophomore at McHenry County College and is going into his second semester; pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Josh loves solving math problems and helping others solve problems they struggle to understand. He enjoys watching videos online and playing games with friends. He also loves to hang out with his family and eat sushi.

Cindy

Instructor
Cindy is a retired elementary public school teacher with 38 years of teaching experience. Besides having taught Math, Language Arts, and Health in Junior High, she also taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades as a regular classroom teacher. She has spent the last 8 years teaching RtI (Response to Intervention) Math to K-8 students who struggled with Math concepts. She's very excited to again be teaching math to students. Cindy received her BA in Elementary Education from Milikin University in Decatur, IL, and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University. She lives in McHenry with her husband of 30 years and has two grown sons. Her favorite activities include: teaching and talking about Common Core Math to anyone who will listen; being active in the Church of Holy Apostles ministries, especially singing in the choir; music; spending time with family and friends; traveling; reading; and cheering on her favorite sports teams -- the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jackson

Instructor
Jackson is currently a Senior at Cary-Grove. He loves to teach, do math, and help others. At school, he is a part of the Math team, Scholastic bowl, Science Olympiad, and the Robotics team. In his free time, he likes to read. He hopes that in being part of Mathnasium, he can instill in others the same love of math that he has.

Kyra

Instructor
Kyra is a Senior at Cary Grove High School. She is involved in many clubs at school including the speech team and musicals. She has always enjoyed math and is so excited to share this passion with others! Through working at Mathnasium, she hopes to show students that math can be fun and hopes to instill the same lifelong love of learning she has always had.

Zach

Instructor
Zach is a sophomore at McHenry County College where he is pursuing a degree in Computer Science. He is happy to be keeping his math skills sharp through instructing. Zach has always loved math because of the many practical uses that math provides in daily life. He hopes that he can help other students grow their skills in the subject as well. In his free time Zach likes to play soccer and listen to music.

Eva

Instructor
Eva is a senior at Cary Grove High School currently taking AP Statistics. She’s been involved in many sports over the years and loves to find the patterns and strategies in them. She is excited to help students love math and patterns as much as she does, and to help endow the foundations needed for them to succeed in any aspect of their lives. In her free time, Eva enjoys tennis, reading, hanging out with friends, gardening, and she plans on studying engineering in her future.

Rohan

Instructor
Rohan is a senior at Wauconda High School currently taking AP Calculus BC. He spends his time playing sports and participating in school extracurriculars like math team and student council. Rohan has always had a passion for math and problem solving. He wants to use his knowledge of math to help students find that same passion. Rohan knows that math is more than just numbers, and if taught the right way, can become very fun to learn.

Greyson

Instructor
Greyson is currently a Senior at Hampshire High School. He loves everything to do with mathematics, and loves helping others even more. At school, Greyson is taking AP Statistics and assists in teaching a Geometry class. Aside from math, his livelihood is music, whether it’s in the youth orchestras at Encore Music Academy, or in the pit for a musical! In the future, he hopes to study either electrical engineering or string performance in college.

Kayla

Instructor

Kayla is a Junior at Cary Grove High School currently taking AP Calculus AB. She is involved in many clubs and activities at her school including CG Buddies, CG Tennis, Musical, and Student Council. She has developed her passion for math over many years, especially involving algebra and calculus. Kayla wants to help others to not only succeed in math, but also grow to love learning about it. In her future career, Kayla hopes to study and become a Biochemist.

Kyle

Instructor

Kyle is currently a Sophomore at Jacob’s High School and is taking Calculus BC. Kyle has always loved math since kindergarten and loves watching others finally understand a topic after struggling with it for a while. If you asked Kyle his favorite number, he’d say i, even if it’s just in his imagination. In his free time, Kyle loves the outdoors, and you can often find him rock climbing, camping, or backpacking with Troop 368 Algonquin. He also loves computer science and cats.
