Specially Trained and Caring Team
Allen
Lead Instructor
Allen is a senior at Coeur d’Alene High School and one of the center’s brightest math minds. He truly embodies a love for math and learning. Whether it’s for a student or a fellow instructor, Allen is always ready to jump in and help. He’s someone that students can really look up to and count on for support.
Known for his patience and encouragement, Allen has a gift for breaking down complex concepts in ways that make sense for each student. No matter what level of math it is, he takes the time to find the right approach, and makes sure every student leaves their session feeling confident and accomplished.
Math Superpower: Making Math Feel Easy
Why students love working with Allen: He’ll explain a problem three different ways, to find what works best for each student.
After Math Adventures: Allen keeps busy with school clubs, volunteering, and(unsurprisingly) exploring even higher levels of math.
Ella
Instructor
Ella brings creativity, kindness, and a thoughtful approach to every session at Mathnasium. She comes from a family of highly skilled educators and really brings that energy to the center by getting to know each student individually and finding the teaching method that works best for them. She believes that every student learns differently, and she celebrates every bit of progress with them, big or small.
Ella likes to look at math as a series of puzzles waiting to be solved. With her background in theatre and her love for telling stories, she loves helping students discover that math, and even word problems, can actually feel fun once it starts to make sense.
Math Superpower: Bringing Logic and Creativity Together
Why students love working with Ella: She makes solving math feel like cracking a secret code.
After Math Adventures: Ella enjoys writing, playing video games, and diving into DnD campaigns. She also has a passion for theatre and voice acting, and hopes to one day write screenplays that inspire others.
Rory
Instructor
Rory brings decades of experience and a unique academic background to his role at Mathnasium. He holds a Doctorate in Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies, with a minor in mathematics. He is also fluent in Mandarin.

At Mathnasium of Coeur d'Alene, we take a long-view approach to exam preparation, focusing on steady math growth rather than cramming before test day.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills and any knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math skills consistently, session by session, so students aren't starting from scratch before every exam.
Our specially trained tutors work with students across any K-12 math class, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing the concepts they're learning in school, filling in foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills that serve them on quizzes, midterms, and final exams alike.
When a major exam is approaching, we can align instruction with the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.
Yes! Mathnasium of Coeur d'Alene prepares students for the math portions of the ISAT.
Our tutors align instruction with the Idaho Content Standards for Mathematics to ensure students have a solid grasp of the grade-level concepts they'll encounter on the exam. We identify each student's knowledge gaps through a diagnostic assessment and build a personalized learning plan that targets the skills they need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
Starting early makes the biggest difference. The ISAT measure cumulative math understanding built over the school year, so students who receive consistent support throughout the year tend to perform better than those who begin preparing close to the exam.
Ideally, students should start working with us at the beginning of the school year or semester. This gives us time to identify and address knowledge gaps, build foundational skills, and ensure students are progressing steadily toward grade-level mastery well before test day.
That said, if the exam is coming up sooner, we're still here to help. Contact Mathnasium of Coeur d'Alene and we'll build a focused plan that works within your student's timeline.
Yes! Mathnasium of Coeur d'Alene prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT® and PSAT®.
Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day. Whether your student is preparing for the first time or working to improve a previous result, we tailor preparation to their current skill level and target goals.
We recommend starting at least three to six months before the exam date, and earlier is always better.
College admissions math tests cover a wide range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry. Students who begin preparation early have time to identify and close knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained practice.
For students with significant gaps in foundational math skills, starting even earlier, in middle school or early high school, gives them the strongest possible foundation heading into test prep. If your student's test date is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll build a focused plan around the time they have.
Math test prep at Mathnasium of Coeur d'Alene is included as part of a flat monthly membership. Pricing depends on each student's individual learning plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our center directly. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
There is no single answer, as the right number of sessions depends on the exam your student is preparing for, their current skill level, and the time available before test day.
For major standardized tests like the SAT®, or PSAT®, most students benefit from two sessions per week over a three-to-six-month period. For state assessments or school-based exams, a shorter timeline may be sufficient depending on each student's needs.
Once we complete the diagnostic assessment, we'll recommend a session schedule tailored to your student's goals and the time they have available.
Yes! Students who prefer to learn from home can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our specially trained Coeur d'Alene tutors and follow the same personalized learning plan as they would in the center.
No, there is no difference. Whether your student attends in center or online, they follow the same personalized learning plan and receive the same live, face-to-face instruction from our specially trained tutors.
