Noah

Assistant Center Director

With experience as a Kroc Center leader, camp counselor, and financial mathematics specialist, Noah brings an exciting and engaging energy to the learning center as the Assistant Center Director. 

A three-time state-level competitor in math and business through DECA and a medalist in state theatre competitions, Noah has a talent for combining creativity with strategy. His passion for keeping learning fun and dynamic, shines through at Mathnasium. 

Drawing on his diverse background in education, business, and the arts, Noah’s teaching approach is all about positivity, entertainment, and treating students as his peers to build a comforting and fulfilling learning environment. 

Outside Mathnasium, Noah is a talented actor (most recently performing in Clue), an avid reader, and a Dua Lipa superfan who knows every single lyric by heart.

With his quick wit, infectious humor, and love for pop-culture, Noah makes every day at the center unforgettable.

Cynthia

Assistant Center Director

Cynthia brings a diverse background in caregiving, management, and marketing to her role as Assistant Center Director.

As the PTA president of her daughter’s elementary school, she is well-versed in working as a team, and fostering community. 

Cynthia’s teaching approach focuses on trust and personalization. Taking the time to understand each student’s skill level and personality, and creating a supportive environment where they feel empowered to succeed. 

When it comes to math skills, her strengths lie in mental math, pattern recognition, and deductive reasoning. She hopes to inspire imaginative thinking and perseverance among students.

Outside of work, Cynthia and her husband, Josiah, are raising two daughters, ages 6 and 4, in the same beautiful community they grew up in. 

Her ultimate aspiration is simply to be an advocate for all children, and make a positive difference in the lives of those around her.

Rory

Instructor

Rory brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the learning center with a background including a Doctorate in Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies, as well as minoring in mathematics and becoming fluent in Mandarin. 

After 25 years of military service as an intelligence analyst and 15 years as an attorney, Rory now shares his passion for problem-solving with students. 

Rory’s specialty lies in geometry, where his strong spatial reasoning and three dimensional understanding make complex concepts easier to grasp. His teaching approach is patient and methodical, focusing on step-by-step guidance to help students build confidence and understanding. His favorite moments at Mathnasium are when concepts seem to just “click” for students, and they light up with excitement. When not at the center, Rory loves spending time outdoors; he enjoys hiking, fishing, and exploring nature. For Rory, Mathnasium doesn’t just feel like a job—it feels like home.

Ella

Instructor

Ella brings a unique blend of creativity, passion, and problem-solving skills to her role as an instructor at Mathnasium. 

Born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Ella grew up with a love for learning, surrounded by parents who both work at North Idaho College. She studied as an English major in Moscow, and has always been involved in the theatre community, participating in Seattle playwright readings and competing in theater semifinals. 

She developed her love for math when she started seeing equations as intricate puzzles to solve. This perspective has helped shape her teaching style, which focuses on building connections with each student and making math concepts click in fun, relatable ways. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Ella has a love for writing, playing video games, and diving into Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. Her dream is to channel her storytelling talent into screenwriting or writing for video games, continuing to inspire others with her creative voice.

She provides students with a warm and encouraging environment, where they feel comfortable both asking for help or showing off their talents.

Kieran

Instructor

Kieran is a dedicated math tutor with a love for helping students discover their own potential. 

Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, Kieran has a strong foundation in math and practical problem-solving, with hands-on experience through a variety of projects and hobbies.

Kieran specializes in linear algebra and uses a personalized, thoughtful teaching approach that prioritizes understanding each students’ needs. He focuses on building rapport, encouraging confidence, and guiding students with Socratic questioning to help them discover solutions independently.

Outside of tutoring, Kieran is a true explorer of STEM. He loves spending time outdoors, and has a strong passion for engineering,  3D-printing everything from his own wallet to a functional 3D hand. 

Kieran’s innovative spirit shines through in both his studies and his teaching style.

Mae

Instructor

Mae is a cheerful and driven senior at Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, where she tutors fellow students in math and beyond.

As a National Merit Semifinalist and a top scorer on the Idaho SATs, Mae brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her teaching.

Mae specializes in algebra and polynomials, enjoying the challenge of solving math problems like riddles. Her teaching focuses on meeting students where they are, strengthening fundamentals, and building skills step by step.

Beyond academics, Mae is an incredibly versatile artist, experimenting with art across 25 different mediums. She has a huge heart for the world around her, no matter how great, from her fascination with the Mongolian Empire, to her love for ants. 

Mae’s sweet and fun personality makes her a supportive and engaging tutor who inspires students to reach their goals.

Allen

Instructor

Allen is a bright and kindhearted student at CHS with a passion for math and a talent for tutoring. 

As an incredibly active student at CHS, he stays busy in school with a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, including five different school clubs and aspirations to become an electrical engineer. His most recent projects include working to co-found his school’s debate team and joining the Growing the STEM initiative to further his knowledge in science and technology.

Specializing in calculus, algebra, geometry, and mental math, he tailors his teaching to fit each student’s individual learning style. With plenty of patience and a kind attitude, he provides constructive and supportive feedback to help students build confidence in their abilities.

Outside of work and school,  Allen still finds a little time to relax, hanging out with his girlfriend, watching movies, reading, and diving into history and math. 

Allen’s love for problem-solving and innovation, along with his driven personality make him and incredible instructor and a great role model for the kids at Mathnasium.

Kirsti

Instructor

Kirsti is an experienced math instructor who teaches 7th and 8th-grade math, as well as Geometry, at Genesis Prep. 

Known for her creative teaching style, she has helped students succeed through hands-on projects like designing an impressive “Geometry City,” where students were able to use use mathematical concepts in real-world applications.

Naturally, Kirsti has a well rounded knowledge on numerous mathematical concepts. Her student-led teaching approach encourages exploration and learning by doing. She believes that giving students room to work through challenges at their own pace helps them develop deeper understandings and independence.

As a Coeur d’Alene native, Kirsti has a deeply rooted love for teaching in her community and has aspirations of one day opening her own school. In her free time, she enjoys reading, drawing, bike riding, and quoting her favorite movies.

With a knack for keeping kids on task and her ability to connect with each student, Kirsti creates a structured yet engaging learning environment that fosters growth and success.

Alex

Instructor

Alex is an intelligent and talented math instructor with a gift for breaking down complex concepts into more approachable steps. 

As a current high school student, Alex is two years ahead of his grade in math, and is currently excelling in AP Pre-Calculus. He even has the accolades to prove it, with wins in several math competitions.

Specializing in advanced maths and word problems, Alex takes a thoughtful teaching approach, using Socratic questioning to help students find their own answers. He connects with students by focusing on the little things that build trust and understanding, while also providing clear and direct guidance when needed.

Outside of Mathnasium, Alex enjoys boxing and playing guitar in his free time. He uses his skills in building computers and programming to further advance himself in computer sciences, on track to attend BYU as a Computer Science and Engineering major.

With a brilliant mind and a love for learning,  Alex brings focus, determination, and optimism to Mathnasium, helping students tackle challenges and build confidence in their own abilities.
